Dr Bernstein is fantastic. He's been my GP for over 20 years. His staff, however, need a crash course in customer service. The older, grey haired woman at reception is surly, and answers everything with "I'm working all alone!!". Horrible first person to encounter when you're unwell.

I have been seeing Rob for 25 years and he is THE best doctor I've ever dealt with. He warm, compassionate and human but is also logical and will do whatever is necessary to track down the ailment and cure it, if he can. I only wish he had enough bandwidth to take on my kids and wife as patients.

With all the stories I've heard about family doctors I know I am lucky. I've known Dr. Bernstein longer than I've known my husband and both he and my two sons are his patients now as well - he came our home for the first examination of our sons shortly after their birth, something unheard of. I never mind the wait because he never rushes me and not only listens but asks questions about how things are going in your life. I can discuss anything with him without embarrassment. I am lucky to have him as my family doctor and hope he stays healthy so he can keep my and my family healthy.

Something afoot with Dr. Bernstein. He's been my regular Doctor for about 15 years now, but things have been changing in the last year or so. He's got a markedly unfriendly nurse now, that you have to deal with first. She will berate you if, as in my case, you don't remember the dosage of a medication you were on 2 years ago; never-mind her flubbing with the needle on a blood test - twice. But the once-great Doctor Bernstein isn't himself these days. He still knows what he's talking about, but isn't nearly as helpful or as cordial. When asking for a referral for a clinic downtown that specialized in panic disorders, I was told that "psychiatrists are for people on the fringe of society", and didn't want to give the referral. Ridiculous! Friends have noticed a similar change in his demeanor, and some have changed doctors entirely. Be weary.

One of the nicest, knowledgeable and patient and understanding doctors I have ever dealt with on both sides of the Atlantic. Highly recommend him.
