She found my breast cancer early and got me into a surgeon very quickly. Cannot thank her enough

I have dealt with this Dr numerous times at the Low Risk Maternity Clinic in High River over the past few years. I find her to be aggressive, condescending, and arrogant. Extremely resistant to any medical opinions other than her own. She does not seem open to any sort of dialogue or questions about procedure/diagnosis, but instead answers questions with blunt and sometimes sarcastic responses. Has a troubling obsession with weight & bmi (I am far from overweight and have left in tears on more than one occasion).

Love Dr. Makhdoom. We were fortunate to get her for a doctor just about 8 years ago when we moved here. She is helpful, kind, knowledgable, easy to talk to. Our family has never had any problems with her. Her staff are amazing, love them. I always feel like I can go to them with any questions I may have. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Went to see this doctor with fertility problems and was told I needed to loose weight. Did not answer any of my questions. Felt like I was brushed off and judged.

I've been seeing Makhdoom for 6 or 7 years and she is a wonderful, caring person HOWEVER, I find that her astuteness and intuition could use some sharpening. I'm far from hypochondriac and don't really just want a prescription, a pat on the head and run along now. My oldest child has some stomach issues and when I asked about a simple lactose tolerance test I was poo-pooed and brushed off. I'm not the type of mother to over-react, so if I'm dragging my kids to a germ filled dr's office, you better listen to what I have to say. She's great as long as you just need your yearly checkup and have no real health issues. We are currently looking for a new family dr.

I would recommend Dr. Makhdoom to anyone who needs a family doctor. I drive all the way from Cochrane just to see her! She addresses any issues, asks all of the relevant questions, and will recommend further testing just to be cautious. If you are a normal, non-hypochondriac type person, I would highly recommend going to her.

I had been trying to get pregnant for about 9 months and during my visits with her regarding this she told me numerous times it was likely my wt causing my infertility. I admit I'm about 10 to 15 lbs over wt, and that it could be a factor (one of many possiblities) but it was as if she refused to believe it was anything else. Every appt I had with her she made sure to remind me that I was over wt. I know that as a Dr it is her job to discuss my wt but she made it the focus of every appt, leaving me feeling awful about myself and that my fertility issues were myself. She sent me for blood work and at my appt to discuss it said "ok so we will send you for a specialist it could be polycystic ovarain syndrome" This came as a shock to me because she had never mentioned that to me before. I find that very unprofessional. Now that I am pregnant, I have to book seperate appts for the physical, to get u/s req's, and blood work. I have limited days off and find this ridiculous.

Not happy with this Doctor at all, in fact I'm reluctant to re-visit the low risk in High River because of her. I have had two miscarriages, during my first, I explained I was having bleeding after sex so she bluntly said "Then stop having sex". With no further explanation. Not exactly the response you're looking for from your doctor. Had she done some investigation perhaps this miscarriage could have been prevented.
