Worst so called Doctor ever. He is not "retired" as his profile suggests. He has been barred from practicing. There's a reason he lost his license and was fined thousands of dollars for his dishonorable conduct. If this snake is still practicing illegally stay far far away.

I was a patient of Dr Mitchel's for aproximately three yrs. He helped me help my daughter who was being harassed
at school. He told me that he could not help her unless I had therapy myself.
I learned many things about myself and my conditioning growing up which I was placing on her as she was growing.
I want to say that he helped change her entire life. Absolutely nobody pushes her around and she has grown into
an independant ,well adjusted ,sucessful woman. (She has also become an optometrist.)

He also helped me through a very difficult divorce, showed me how to not place the children in the middle
while encouraging them to continue loving and having a relationship with their father.
I am so grateful to be part of helping them in this regard to become healthy mature adults. ( it could have been so different an outcome)

Also, while struggling being a single parent, working, going back to school, and struggling greatly financially... I was also raising an ADHD hyperactive adolescent son. Dr. Paul Mitchell, showed me how to discipline my son in a manner that would have lasting effects in terms of him becoming a self actualizing , happy and effective mature adu.t.
In his adolescence my son had low accademic self esteme, was somewhat rebellious and headed towards taking
the path of lowest resistence instead of following his dream.
Well, after graduating from adult high school with scholarships, he went ofv to University. He graduated from there with highest honors, then went to UNB for law School.
Today he practices law in Vancouver.
Suffice it to say that his guidance teaching me to come to realizations on how to help myself and my children
will have effects on generations to come. I truly believe that they will bring to their children the lessons I have learned in therapy with Dr. Paul Mitchel, instead of repeating the patterns of behaviour I learned while growing up.

I would like to add that his style is not soft nor sugar coated, but it never botherec me. As a matter of fact I respected him for it.
Let me also add that he never told me what to think, what to do, or how to behave. My sessions with him were about guidance and self awareness.

I would strongly recommend him to anyone.

Terrible doctor. Not a helpful experience at all. Didn’t explain himself well and couldn’t keep me and my sister straight. He Saw both of us separately for a short time but mixed up our issues. Expected me to change but never gave me tools to do it.

Avoid this doctor at all costs. He will blame all your problems on everyone else in your life, without trying to get to the root of your problem.

Dr. Mitchell is a brilliant and excellent mental health professional. His understanding of anxiety shines through in his methods of therapy. It took me 12 years of trying different psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors and therapists to finally find him and he's the first whose methods have helped me. I have gone from someone whose anxiety was so debilitating that I couldn't even open up a textbook to study for class, to someone who is thriving, working at a highly respectable organization in an important position (in my field of study), and getting straight As in university (while working full-time) so that I can improve my GPA up from the bad grades I got prior to being a patient of his – so that I can pursue a masters degree and then a doctoral degree and finally start changing the world. I have a level of respect for myself that I didn't know possible and my intelligence and creativity is finally shining through.

I can't thank Dr. Mitchell enough for challenging the status quo of therapy and doing something that helps people with debilitating anxiety like mine used to be.

Dr. Mitchell is one of the best things that ever happened to me and my family! He had changed my life, has taught me how to manage my ADHD and Anxiety. It hasn’t been an easy journey, it is a tone of work but I have learnt so much. I am truly grateful.

I find it curious that the honest comments about his sub-par treatment approach are continually removed. For a profession that aims to "do no harm," Dr. Mitchell has done just that. He made me believe that he was the only one who could help me - just one of many red flags. I do not recommend this doctor.

Dr Mitchell is a wonderful person. He is the first therapist to actually help me. The other 3 that I saw several years ago were not helpful. They were kind and listened to my complains, but the only advice was put your self first. Dr Mtchell was very different. He taught me how to love myself and gave me the confidence to speak my mind. He helped me understand that the way I had always "placed" myself was causing me to be very unhappy. He is extremely intelligent and I trust him 100%. His advice in dealing with several people in my live has made Things so much better. It's like a light has been turned on for me. When he suggests strategies I seem to instinctively know he is right. They are usually something I thought about already and dismissed because I thought I was not being nice. But it was me I was not being nice to. Thank you so much Dr Mitchell. You are terrific. I really hope you write a book someday to pass on your great understanding of human nature.

Great man with greater knowledge. His sessions require strength, and are just the sort of poking and prodding of sore spots which we require more of in today's world. Socratic trust is key for success and has never been violated, and so I speak for those he has helped in that these accusations flown from the blue are likely made by an individual too weak for the process that any successful case must endure. He uses really rather new-age methods which require honesty, comfort and a willingness to truly 'see' oneself. So I address the fragile minds out there that most fragility is self-inflicted and self-manifested; He will assist you to see things you did not know (or rather did not want to know?) were there and see you through like family. It is truly eye opening modern practice when that door closes. I highly recommend Dr. Mitchell as well as his methods.
