Great - was my GYN for years as my husband and I tried to get pregnant. He's a great doctor and we have a beautiful baby boy 5 years later.

Sorry to hear the previous reviewer had a bad experience with the staff because she is correct -- Dr. Stavoy is awesome!! I have two small children, one just turning a year old, and the other is two and a half. Dr. Stavoy delivered both of my kids via c-section the experience was nothing but wonderful!! He has a wonderful, calming bedside manner that puts you at ease and was always willing to answer any questions without judgement. And, for those overweight women or moms-to-be, please consider him if you are having trouble finding a good doc. I have been overweight my entire life and did not even get pregnant until I was 37 years old. But again, there was no judgement. He counseled me if my weight increased too quickly, but was never harsh or mean. And, to be honest, he was the third doc that I tried because I was having a problem with doctors treating me badly because of my weight. So don't hesitate if you are in the same boat -- you will get great care!!

Office staff is rude and inflexible, and obviously does not care. I made an appointment with another OB because I was so dissatisfied with their customer service. I was trying to make my first prenatal visit, but just switched insurance companies... they would not accept a "certificate of coverage" from the insurance company (which the insurance company said should be universally accepted, and was accepted by the OB I switched to with no problem), stating they would only accept the physical insurance card (which I will not receive before my scheduled appt). Come into the 21st century people! Call the insurance company and verify my policy based off the certificate and my ID number, and THEN scan the card when I get it!! So, they either wanted to CANCEL my appt because I didn't have the card yet, or they were going to make me self-pay for the ENTIRE pregnancy! Are you kidding me?!?! Ridiculous, and it's a shame too, because apparently the doctor (Stavoy) is really great.
