I had been a patient of Dr. Kinkead's for a few years. I think she stopped working there and now a different chiropractor sees patients. I only saw the new doctor once when my back had went out last May. I had expected her to give me x-rays; my pain was quite severe but instead she just adjusted me. I was leery. I don't care how much 'schooling' a person has had. How are you going to fix something blindly? But I was in so much pain, I was desperate! I came back 4-5 more times as informed and had spent well over $200 in all. (Yes, I have health insurance). My family doctor had called in medication for me as well. After I started to feel better, although I wanted to, I just could not afford to keep shelling out $100 a week for adjustments. When I left after my last adjustment, I told them this and did not answer when Dr. Kinkead's office called me several times, leaving messages for me to make more appointments. Well, my back went out again. I called them and asked if I could get in that day or the next. Its a small office and the three years that I had been going there, it had never been busy. They said that they could not get me in until 5 days later. I told them my back would probably be better by then, but if not, that I would call. It got better for a week and then I lifted something the wrong way and it went out completely . I called on a Thursday. The receptionist said that she could see me in 4 days. I asked if I could be seen as an emergency patient. She said no, and also told me that it had been over a year and I would now be considered a 'new patient'
I went to look at my prescription of when my family doctor had given me the prescription for my back last year. Although in May, it had not been a year yet. Now Dr. Kinkead is an older woman and was very nice and took x-rays the first time that she saw me. This younger woman who has taken her place seems to only be interested in money and not the patient. On a scale from 1 to 10 her bedside manner is a 1. Don't waste your time here. It was a miracle that I was able to walk out of there and not have to be carried out on a stretcher. How can one even attempt to fix something, without being able to see what is wrong!?!?
After our phone call, I called a new chiropractor and the first thing that the receptionist told me was that we were going to have to do 2 appointments because the first one would be for x-rays and that the doctor wouldn't touch me without them.
I like this place already!
