I’ve been a patient of Dr. Carfuras for several years. It has become increasingly difficulty to gain an appointment when you are very sick. The secretary staff is rude and short on the phone and unhelpful. I recently was very sick with bladder issues, and gallbladder issues, as well as a long history of an autoimmune disease that impacts my vision. I was begging for appointments because I knew something was wrong and after speaking to Carfura the staff would come back on the line to tell me to see a specialist! I explained I had seen a urologist, I had seen a gastro dr, I had gone to my gyno. IVe had numerous tests and been put on antibiotics for over seven months that I wanted to see my primary to go over my labs and discuss how to proceed with my health issues. They finally gave me a 5 minute telemed in which Carfura said I need to follow up with specialists and said she couldn’t stay on the phone with me that she had patients waiting!!!! That they slipped me in as a favor!!! I’m a patient!!!! I deserve an appointment to see my dr!!! I was then told I needed medecine but the urologist wouldn’t prescribe it because he said it was a gyn issue because my muscles were tightened around my bladder causing my issues. I called my gyno. He would t prescribe it said to talk to my primary. Had a phone consult with Physicians assistant because Carfura was out of the office for a Month at a conference!! She goes to many conferences throughout the year and maybe that’s why she can’t be there to help her patients. Ashley the physicians assistant felt bad for all Problems I was going through and said she would call in the muscle relaxer to see if it would help. I got to the pharmacy after work it had not been called in. It was Friday so I now had to wait until Monday to call their office. Monday I called and a secretary said it was put in the notes to call my urologist!!! I had explained Everything and they still just keep handing you off to a specialist!!!! She is more concerned with selling you supplements and doing facials in her office than truly caring about your actual health when you are in crisis. I needed help and she was not there for me. You should be ashamed of how you treated me Carfura!!!!!! I hope you never face severe medical issues in your life and get passed over repeatedly by the one doctor who should be there for you. Shameful.

Roxanne Carfora is a disgrace to the medical community. She did not provide care to my mother and ignored my mother's several attempts to discuss abnormal lab results at a time when my mother's cancer was metastasizing. My mother has since passed away, only three months after her diagnosis by another doctor.
Roxanne Carfora ignored my mother at a time when she could have made a difference in her health, and directly contributed to her death. She should be banned from the medical community, she is a businesswoman, not a doctor.

Please stay away from this doctor. She misdiagnosed my mother and ignored her at her appointments. My mother has since passed away. My moms last words were that Dr Cardona is the reason she died. She should not be allowed to practice medicine!!! Please STAY AWAY!!!!!!!’

Extremely Abusive staff Carfora lets them getaway with it. She is crazy, gave me supplements to lower my already severely low cortisol. Dr is a FRAUD. Also wouldn't prescribe my meds that my life depends on. Do not let her push her supplements on you, (she sells them)!

Prescribe control substances like crazy. Anything for a dollar. Not a real physician. If you are looking for a regular good physician, look elsewhere. Push questionable tests that cost a lot and not covered by insurances.

I am not a patient, nor have I ever been a patient of Dr. Carfora. She came recommended by a member of my thyroid group and number of the statements made by the medical student gave me great concern should anyone give them any credence. I am 60 years old and have been through numerous specialist all because no doctor could understand why I was so tired and out of breath--including the endocrinologist I was with for 7 years. I've had gallons of blood taken and all "in range". Then, starting in my 40's, I had numerous invasive tests with no diagnosis. It's not about being "in range". It's about where in range your numbers fall. I don't care what any medical school may say, testing only the TSH and Free T4 is not enough to diagnose hypothyroidism. I am very glad to hear that this office ran those other tests because they will give a full picture of the thyroid function. Those tests should include, in addition to the the Free T4 and TSH: Free T3; Reverse T3, thyroid antibodies, TPO and TgAB. Before finally being diagnosed with hypothyroidism, my blood pressure suddenly went very low....then it went high and stayed high-- until I got off synthroid and on to NDT plus T3 and also addressed my adrenal fatigue (which most doctors do not believe exists) along with a number of other imbalances that a CBC nor a CMP will show . Also, another possible cause of low BP (and also high BP), are issues with aldosterone. A reading of 60 for a diastolic reading is on the low side and the office was right to have concern and order further testing. Family history is not a be all and end all as most doctors are trained in a way that hypothyroidism will not be detected until after we have spent years--decades--being sick and tired. The CBC test is not enough to know what is going on with our iron levels. We need to know our: ferritin, iron and TIBC to get a full picture. Most doctors will only run the ferritin should we ask them to test our iron --- it is not enough to base any treatment on. It must be seen in relation to the iron and TIBC. Much can be found out through those 3 tests, but you will very likely need to figure it out for yourself. The lab range for B12 in my opinion is too broad and many people who are "in range" are in need of B12 supplements. Most doctors are not well trained in vitamins, so in general, do not rely on them to correctly interpret your results on B12. Plus, the current method of testing B12 is only measuring what is floating around in our blood, not what is actually in our cells. My mother was diagnosed with pernicious anemia back in the early 60s and sadly it was only until after she died in 2002 after a long , drawn out death, after I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and began my own research to understand my condition, that I put the pieces together--- too late. She was instead diagnosed with "most likely"Parkinson's with dementia and "probably" Alzheimer's. Her health took decades to deteriorate. For those interested in understanding B12 and what our medical system is not capable of helping you with, pick a copy of "Could It Be B12", by Jeffrey J. Stuart and Sally M. Pacholok. For those of you who have not felt well for years and no doctor has a reason for it beside a bunch of opinions that begin with "probably": weight (which you can't lose not matter what you try); stress (and they want to prescribe pills for your anxiety); your age. Check out Stop the Thyroid Madness. The website also has a page on aldosterone and iron. For all patients, do not hesitate to ask what is being tested and why. Also, always get a copy of any test that is run (it is your right) and create a binder for your permanent record. To the young medical student, I wish you success in your pursuit of your medical degree, but should you have any chronic health condition, the stress of school will take it's toll if it is not discovered and addressed, and that can derail your dream. At 22 years we feel indestructible, I know I did-- even with the "little" problems that I was having. Do look into your health. It's one of the most valuable assets you will ever have in your life.

Staff is rude and incompetent. Save yourself the time and frustration of trying to reason with the staff, who have no business working in a doctors office.
