Dr. Harker was everything that I hoped for and expected of a Orthopedic Surgeon and extremely happy with my primary doctor for referring me to Dr. Harker! Upon determining my left hip was destroyed to the point of replacement as my only total fix we proceeded with the total hip replacement. It has now been 4 months and after rehab and physical therapy I'm completely pain free and mobile again without my cane. The entire office staff and post surgery follow up could not be any smoother. I would recommend Dr. Harker to anyone with confidence that he won't let me or them down.

Saw this particular orthopedic surgeon for a hip replacement. He was very kind and helped in several different ways. I would happily recommend this surgeon to anyone. I don't understand how anyone could post a bad review about him or his staff. They were all very kind and helpful in a situation that was foreign to me and frankly quite frightening. There was a wait in the waiting room, but as I understood it, he is the best in his field, so I didn't mind too much. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Harker and his staff to anyone in need of a skilled orthopedic surgeon.

The worst doctor and the most despicable person I have ever met in my entire life. My story is too heartbreaking to have to reiterate here and now. All I can tell you is to get help by getting a second opinion at Shands Medical Center in Gainsville, FL. They may be the only orthopedic surgeons who will see you. And they will see you. Also, you can call the Department of Health and report your case to them. They take it very seriously and will do something about him. We have done both of these things and have found great satisfaction from being pro-active. Good luck to you.

I went to see Dr.Harker with extreme knee pain. He was very informative and gave me several options for my diagnosis. His staff was wonderful and very helpful to myself, and my family. I would happily and confidently recommend Dr.Harker to any of my family and friends. He made my bad situation better.

This Office is absolutley horrible. After waiting almost two hours for the doctor he have me maybe five mins of his time. He was very rude and also as a female patient he made me feel very uneasy about what he was looking for I dont think it had to do with my orthopedic problem. Then I get a Bill from them saying my insurance didnt cover it so i called my insurance to be told they Billed it wrong just a horrible experience all the way around. Do not use him!

I'm actually reviewing his office staff and overall practice here, as I didn't even get in to see Dr. Harker. After waiting 45 minutes, I was told they wouldn't see me. When I first walked in I informed the girl at the desk that I couldn't find my insurance card but had obtained all the information on it from my HR dept. for them to verify. She said okay, just put it on the form. I waited for 45 minutes (I was one of 10 people waiting and in this whole time not one person was called back to see the doctor) and was then told they wouldn't see me without it. I told them it was extremely difficult for me to get time off to get there, and I couldn't reschedule. I asked if they could please just call my insurance and confirm but they flat out refused saying they were short staffed and didn't have time. When I said I wouldn't be returning, the girl shrugged and said "Fine". Very rude! All the reviews on-line are so frightening, I'm actually glad they didn't see me.

He does not really listen to the patient about pain. Just orders more oxycodine

Beware. I had surgery March 2, 2010 and knee was infected almost immediately. Two manual manipulations under anesthesia, second surgery to replace infected joint. Dr. Harker is rude, lied about calling my wife, and refuses to treat me. I have been 8 months since surgery and cannot fine a doctor who will fix "his mess." No doctor will treat you if your knee becomes infected. Very few become infected, but research your risks. If you have multiple surgeries, your chances are higher. The only way to treat an infected knee is to remove the joint, put in a plastic spacer (no walking) and treat with i.v. antibiotics for 8 weeks, then undergo another total knee replacement surgery. I have been out of work for 8 months and the man refuses to help me. Honestly, I am scared to let him try again. Don't be fooled..he had a total knee replacement..but he had someone else operate on his knee. Go to the doctor who worked on Dr. Harker's knee...not Dr. Harker!!!!!
