Dr. Acosta is rude, condescending and unprofessional. He does not take the time to listen to his patients concerns. He treats his patients as if they are beneath him. For example a patient was trying to explain the effects the prescribed medication was having on her and and not only did he dismiss what she was saying he looked at her as if she didn't known what she was talking about.

I saw Dr Acosta for a total of 7 minutes, he did absolutely nothing except take my case history on his computer. He then told me he could do nothing for me because I had to see a specialist. He is supposed to be a NEUROLOGIST. He sent me two floors up to another neurologist who knew what to do he said. Really.... I drove 1 1/2 hours to be told to see another neurologist???? Went two floors up to Dr. Clintons office. Totally different experience with them.... very positive.

I have been to Dr Acosta 4 times because all 10 toes are constantly numb for 2 months, my legs ache and throb, and I have chronic pain in my lowerback and hips. He pretty much has told me it's because I have mild sleep apnea which was discovered in a sllep study he ordered. Last time I was there, He googled my symptoms and was reading me things off the internet that could be causing this. I can do that myself. Trying to see someone else but not having much luck due to insurance reasons. I know something is wrong and I want to find out what.

He never got up from behind his desk. He would ask questions and never let me tell him what was going on with me. I seen him 4 times. He never did one test. Never even touched me. I work an odd shift for a world wide company because of my odd shift. He just said, You have shift lag. as if he was talking down to me! I knew because I have work the same hours and the same job for many years, he was not hearing anything I had to say. I now have a Dr. at Vanderbilt and now know I have MS. I was in a wheelchair before found out. DR.ACOSTA, DOES NOT CARE! I HAVE TO TAKE SHOTS EVERYDAY AND 8 OTHER MEDS. If I had not gone to a DR. who care and knows about what he is doing, I could have been in the wheelchair or the bed for the rest of my life. My Dr. at Vanderbilt know his stuff. Not only am I out of the wheelchair but I am Back at work and playing with my grandchildren. DR. PAULO ACOSTA IS NOT A GOOD DR. I WOULD NOT TAKE A STRAY DOG TO HIM! :(

Doctor Acosta treated me with nothing but contempt the entire time I was in his office. He'd ask, what I thought were, retorical questions, to which I would respond "ok." Then he would angrily accuse me of not answering his questions. Then when I WOULD try and answer his questions he'd interrupt me. Also, I went in complaining of neck and arm pain, he sent me to PT for the neck pain but he completely neglected to get me any therapy for my arm. (Which was as severely injured as my neck, if not more so.) When he diagnosed me with whiplash instead of actually explaining it he went and grabbed a medical text book and had me read the section on whiplash. If you want to be treated with a shred of human compassion and dignity DO NOT GO TO DOCTOR ACOSTA!
