Dr Mirsky saved my life. In 2002 I was miss diagnosed with a UTI. 5 days later it was reassessed as a perforated bowel. Peritonitis had set in. The emergency doctor prepared my family for my death. She said that I had one chance. She called Dr Mirsky to see if he would take me. He did. 11 hours in surgery after having done can see surgery all day. I’m here typing. Nothing else to say. Thank you for my life Dr Mirsky. You have always been amazing!

In 2006 I was a scared 32 year old mother, newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Dr Mirsky was kind and patient, wrote things down for me to review later on. He was my "quarterback" through a very scary time in my life, if it was for his persistence in encouraging me to go through with the chemo and radiation I don't know if I'd still be alive today to write this. I thank you, and am eternally grateful that my life was placed in your hands.

I feel highly honoured and privelleged to have such a wonderful surgeon Dr. Mirsky as my dr. Ladies, we need to clone him. I have worked with dr. Mirsky as well. He is so caring, knowledgable,, and extremely compassionate. A true testament of the way a dr, should be. Not full of himself, a humane being just like the rest of us. A father, husband, brother, God bless you dr. Mirsky. Too bad the rest of the Drs. Out there weren't like you !!!It is so evident how you truly care about your pts. You are so brilliant and empathic. Anyone fortunate enough to have you as their surgeon would be so lucky. You are a true angel. What a bedside manner. All other surgeons take note. You are a man outstanding in your field. I saw Dr. Mirsky about 2 years ago and he was absolutely amazing. He was kind and patient and seemed to genuinely care for my concerns. He really made sure that I was completely at ease and that all my questions were answered. I felt like I was in good hands. Everything went well with the surgery. I wish more doctors were like him.

I recently became aware of this site or I would have written 1n 1998 to express my gratitude to Dr. Doug Mirsky for his competence and caring during my surgery for breast cancer that year. Dr. Mirsky operated again in 2009 for a second, unrelated breast cancer. Both times he was there for me every step of the way calming my fears and giving me the confidence I needed during that time. He is outstanding in his field, going above and beyond for his patients. You would have to look far to find a more skilled and compassionate surgeon. He is one of a kind.

Hard to accept the truth once you know it in the first time..I'm only one daughter in the family with 5 brothers and I was diagnosed for breast cancer, and I'm so lucky that I got Dr. Mirsky to be my surgeon. He is an excellent surgeon who always have the time to explain everything in detailed especially to those people like me doesn't know medical term. He is very compassionate, caring and very thoughtful in every ways.His bedside manner is excellent.He is my angel here in Canada and will remain so. Dr. Doug Mirsky writes down what he tells you, so that you can re-read it when better able to grasp it all. How wonderful is that? He is kind, thoughtful (warms his hands prior to examinations), knowledgeable (follows higher standards of practice than currently required here), and skilled (his incisions are a work of art).
