This doctor is the chief of staff at AGH and signed off on a policy requiring that all labouring women must accept an epidural. This is a human rights violation and a violation of the consent to medical procedures act. Shame. Oh, and a CPSO report.

I have had to see Dr Deschenes for a semi-routine procedure as well as a follow-up appointment. Not only was she short with us, she was incredibly rude & over an HOUR LATE for our appointment time. For the next appointment, we waited another 45 mins for her to show up. Both times, she rushed us out. I had questions and she told us she did not have time because she was already late for other appointments. This therefore lead to us requiring to book a follow-up appointment with another doctor because she refused to care for us and our new baby. ADDITIONALLY, prior to this, we had an appointment booked with her but we were 5 minutes late due to a significant back up at the registration desk. We ran in and we were called as we walked in, but she had started her introduction to the procedure with another family. She told us since she already started, she could not see us and we had to rebook. I explained why we were late, despite arriving early but were 15 mins registering. She said she was "too busy" to see us. Then, when we did reschedule, that is when she was OVER AN HOUR LATE. She is the WORST doctor we have ever had to meet. I suppose if she is your family Dr, she may care about you & your baby's well being. Otherwise, she treats you with the most disrespect. Just because she is a Dr, it does not give you the right to treat people with such disrespect and disregard.

Had to see Dr Deschenes since my Dr was on holidays and this was a mandatory appointment. She was rude, did not ask any questions about me, my symptoms or ask me if I had Qs; I asked the Qs I needed to and she answered as if she was doing me a favour by seeing me. She refused to check me as part of the regular appointment and would not refer me to a OB specialist as requested. I had to book a new appointment with another Dr in 2 days because the appointment with her was a waste of my time. Additionally, she was over 30 mins late and then rushed me out in 10 minutes. I asked her to do a routine check which is expected at this appointment and she gave me and answer that completely contradicts the test result I received the week earlier from my regular Dr. I should have had progression/increase and instead she said there was none at all (which is not possible). When I questioned this, she tried to double back on it and said she could not "confirm" since she is only substituting this one time. I do not understand how anyone could be rating more than 1 star. I hope to never see her again! She has terrible bedside manner

I've tried and tried again to see her and haven't been able to get her. I'm tired of seeing a different doctor. She is excellent if you can get in!

Dr. Deschenes is the best, most knowledgeable doctor I have ever had. I am so lucky to have her as my family doctor. My Nephrologist is very impressed as well and appreciates all her input. We need more Dr. Deschenes!

Dr. Deschenes has been my family doctor for many years. She is the most compassionate and caring Doctor I have ever met. She goes above and beyond to ensure that all your needs are met and she listens with an attentive ear. She is like a Mom! She has always made the correct diagnosis and has referred me to the best specialists. I am so lucky to have found such a great doctor!

We have been lucky to have such an excellent doctor since moving to Almonte years ago. Dr. Deschenes is an extremely gifted and smart doctor who really goes the extra mile for her patients.
