My wife and I have been treated by Dr. Costa over the years for various orthopedic issues including a broken tibial plateau, knee issues and an aging back. He always provides excellent care, takes his time with us and provides a complete explanation in layman's terms about what is happening with our bodies. He is very forthright and honest with his diagnoses. Dr. Costa cares about us as people, not just patients.

Worst doctor I have ever dealt with. He does not give proper guidance. He does not care about the patient and gives no consideration to their lifestyle (I have been working out 5 days a week for over 30 years). I broke and sprained my ankle and all he cared about was the Xray of the bone. Even lay people know that sprains are more damaging and harder to come back from than breaks...breaks are easy...stick the patient in a cast and forget about it. My bones are healed and even after telling him 3 times I had soft tissue issues he blew me off. Going to my chiro tomorrow to start dealing with the ligament and tendon issues that Costa ignored. And I am signing this review...I don't do the anonymous thing. Peggy Snyder, Pennington NJ

I can't be too specific for fear of being blacklisted, but he missed pathology during a surgery, continually misdiagnosed another shoulder issue as a neck issue, has no rehab plan after surgery, and doesn't understand that active people want to get back to their active lifestyles. He uses a surgery center that is out of network for most providers, so make sure you work out a deal in advance if you make the foolish decision to let him operate on you.He doesn't seem to take anything the patient says seriously, and is too lazy to examine the patient thoroughly. He relies on radiologist reports and does not even look at MRIs unless he is actually going to operate.Probably because of his incompetence, I have early arthritis in my shoulder and am only in my 20's. Going to him was one of the worst mistakes of my life. I have been much happier with doctors at Hospital for Special Surgery

He does not listen to patient. Also he never gives any opinion and changes his when he feels that the patient is not happy. Not of much help
