My father who has dementia is Dr. Hamidi's patient. I make, take and attend every visit. I appreciate with covid them understanding that I need to be in exam room. As far as reception I want to give Katie a 5 star review. She's always been pleasant, very helpful and professional. Felicia on the other hand, not so much. Now onto Hamidi. I once sat in the hall since my father wanted to speak with Dr about something rather personal. I could hear the entire conversation and heard Dr Hamidi arguing with my father telling him that he must watch FoxNews and is brainwashed. This discussion alone went on for at least 5 minutes. Obviously they have a difference of opinion about politics. I found it very unprofessional for a doctor to berate an elderly Korean War Marine Veteran, and retired police officer with dementia. He's not being paid to argue his political views, he's being paid to provide medical care. I believe he is a knowledgeable physician but feel he doesn't always put my father's health first. For example I was taking my dad every few months because he has diabetes. He also has an issue with wax build-up in his ears. Dr. Hamidi would do the usual exam, listen to lungs and look in ears. Would tell us he has a lot of wax, like every single visit, so we know this. Would tell me he can't clean his ears I need to make another appointment because it's billed differently. He would give me a script for bloodwork and off we'd go. It was hard arranging time off of work for the extra office visit for the ear cleaning. Dr. Hamidi was usually on top of calling me about the bloodwork results except for one time. He's usually good with staying on top of renewing his prescriptions. I've only had to call a few times to advise the office that the prescriptions needed to be refilled. Due to covid it had been longer than usual since our in office appointment and getting bloodwork. My dad was complaining of double vision so I made an appointment thinking it's medical. My dad sees a glaucoma specialist every 3 months and was brought up at the last appointment with him and he brushed it off, didn't seem concerned. However the double vision was becoming more frequent. Our appointment was 330p, and we are accustomed to waiting 30 min, up to an hour after that to be seen. When Dr. Hamidi finally came into exam room at 405p he seemed very concerned with the complaints of double vision stating it could be strokes and would need an MRI of his brain. He typed a lot and made my dad follow his finger with his eyes. He asked if he sees and eye doctor and I reminded him that he gets his eyes thoroughly checked every 3 months. He wrote down an optomoligist name and number and said to call her to have his eyes checked and was rushing us out, spent maybe 5 minutes with us. I asked if he was going to write a script for bloodwork at least, thinking since it had been awhile and wouldn't vitals and bloodwork be necessary for a diagnosis? He said, oh no, that's "another" visit, this visit is for the double vision, plus "she" (the optomoligist) may want to do different bloodwork. Then he opened the door and walked out and I was speechless as we just left, appointment over! I feel he cares more about getting paid by insurance company for multiple appointments than the health of my father. This appointment is billed this way and that one that way. Not concerned that an almost 90 yr old man with dementia has to be adjitated with multiple appointments and frustrated with having to wait in exam room for extended times to be rushed. I will be finding a new primary care. The only reason I stayed this long is the convenience of the location of his office from my dad's residence. My father has been complaining that he doesn't care for him for a few years.

Dr. Hamidi has been my primary for the past 11 years. Although he was initially assigned to me when I signed up for insurance at my job, I am thankful for this stroke of luck. He is one of the first doctors I've had who takes time to listen to this patients. He patiently answers questions (probably one of the reasons he is sometimes running late), and does not over-recommend unnecessary treatments (antibiotics for what is likely a virus, etc). He comes to the table, equipped with medical expertise but does not go on a power trip like some physicians. Despite moving 45 minutes away, I still go to him and have recommended him to several friends.

He is the most accessible physician I know. Any question you ask will result in a simple, straightforward answer, but he'll also elaborate as much as you want. If he doesn't know the answer, he'll refer you to a specialist who does. You will not be rushed. If you're asked if you want to be seen by one of the 3rd-year med students he frequently hosts, accept the offer and you'll get the benefit of their eagerness and his sagacity when he follows up with his cross-examination.

I only saw this doctor once. The first visit he and his nurse were very helpful and the visit went well. But the problem I have with is his staff member who answers the phone. The guy was very unhelpful and had a terrible attitude. It was, and is, enough to make me look for another doctor. I'm ok with Dr. Hamidi but when I tried to get in touch with him I had to deal with his rude secretary and couldn't reach him. Dr. Hamidi is great with follow ups but when he's not there and if your call is answered by the guy I spoke with, it's enough to want to look for another doctor.

A friend said she liked him and we were looking for a doctor in the area. Did not like his care. Called the friend and told her what I experienced. She said they no longer go to Dr. Hamidi. They found her 95 year old mother on the floor and took her to Hamidi. He said she was fine and sent her back to live alone. The woman was hurting so bad on the way home, they took her to the hospital where they found a fractured back and other health issues Hamidi overlooked. I would not go back to this man and suggest anyone thinking he was a good doctor, find someone else. He may be good for a sore throat but overlooks life threatening illness.

Dr Hamidi is unlike any other doctor I have visited, he's kind, smart, caring, but also objective enough to make clean diagnosis. He is not afraid to go where other doctors will not. Depending on the situation he can be unconventional to what you'd expect a doctor to be like. This is a good thing because it would seem too often doctors are trying to cover their own butts rather then treat patients properly. If you want a doctor with extensive knowledge of everything from psychology to infectious disease I highly recommend Dr. Hamidi.

Dr. Hamidi is the coolest doctor around. I really get into talking music with him. His knowledge of it is second only to the way he treats his patients. I was so surprised to learn that Max had left the practice. Dr. Hamidi, Max and Neil worked like a well tuned engine.

Dr. Hamidi was the first doctor I found in Maryland and my last -- I moved from Hunt Valley and won't change doctors even with the 30 minute drive to see him. He ALWAYS makes time for you to come in if there is an emergency and it doesn't interfere with your wait time. You're never waiting more than 15-20 minutes and he always spends time to talk with you to get to the root of the problem without just throwing medicine at you. I absolutely recommend Dr Hamidi for all medical needs.
