I have had two colonoscopes with Dr. Ma. I was very satisfied. I just called because I was was due for another colonoscopy. I was told she had retired. I was never notified. Very unprofessional.

Some of the reviews I am seeing here seem out of place in my honest opinion. Dr. Ma is a very intelligent and caring individual. Will she tell you the things you want to hear? No! Will she tell you the things you need to hear! Yes. Dr. Ma doesn't sugar coat your well being. She is a straight shooter and gives you the facts. No pandering! My family has a history of colon cancer. After visiting multiple doctors in my 30s, I was recommended to Dr. Ma from another MD. At that time, she was the only gastroenterologist that understood my situation, built a plan around my family history, and went above and beyond my care regiment. She takes her time to look at every aspect of your record, health history, and physical and mental well being. Dr. Ma may seem abrupt, but that is normal. She is all business, but if you take a moment, get to know her, she is very engaging. So much so that she will chat beyond your allotted appointment time. I have a great relationship with Dr. Ma. Even though we do not socialize, I would consider her a good family friend. She cares that much, you just have to open your eyes and mind to see it.

Unprofessional, not nice, money hungry doctor. Scheduled me for a procedure without explaining plan and that it would cost me. Procedure was scheduled in December and due to me changed insurance companies, it filed it as if I didn't have insurance at all. Now I have a collection agency calling me requesting a mortgage rate payment for a procedure that took her less than 10 mins - greedy. Would never go there again or refer anyone to go to her. Disgusting!

I've been a patient of Dr. Ma's for several years and have had a quite positive experience. She listens well and hasn't been quick to judge or condescending. She doesn't waste time, and that may seem brusque to some.

Be prepared for her to mislead you into choosing an expensive, invasive procedure without listening, without explaining and most egregiously WITHOUT conducting a visual exam. Dr. Ma is very quick to jump to conclusions, she does not listen and is condescending. For whatever reason, she felt it was appropriate to belittle my profession as boring. But the most disturbing aspect of the entire experience was her dismissive demeanor and failure to perform basic medical duties.

I saw this Dr once a year for two years simply as a yearly check-up on my UC. Everything seemed fantastic. I introduced her to the idea of using peppermint supplements. Only when I actually needed her help, advice, and expertise did things sour. She rushed into the room, slammed the door, and began berating me for "wasting her time" since I was only having liquid bowel movements without blood. She went on to lecture me to "learn to live with it" for at least five minutes until I left in tears. One of the staff members apologized to me saying "sometimes she's like that". I pay a doc for when I need them not to be berated or just so they can collect big money when major testing time rolls around every three years.

Have has seen Dr. Ma 2x in the last 2 years, and have left her office in tears both times. I will never go back! She is overbearing and quick to judge! I am a size 8, and she blames my gastro issues on my being "obese"! She shared that "how she controls her weight is that she eats 1 meal a day"..I'm not a doctor, but I am pretty sure that is not health, and should not be promoted to anyone! She was more concerned with insurance companies than my issues. I can't imagine what she would have to say to someone who is a size 10!

I was referred to her by my family doctor. My experience was horrible. I had to change to another doctor to get well & I was very sick. I wasted 2 months being sick. She does not care & IS condescending & judgmental & when I told others what happened to me (several) they knew about her & told me their own horror story!! Dr. Gill is wonderful, skilled & above all will help you.

I had a great experience with Dr Ma. She was very knowledgeable and I'd question the integrity of anyone who claims otherwise. She listened and asked questions that showed she was interested in learning as much as possible about all potential symptoms I might be having. She was also very straight-forward and talked to me like a person, not condescending in the slightest bit. My grandfather also went to Dr Ma as a patient and my father, and we all think very highly of her.

Doctor was impatient during our interview when I asked questions and loudly berated a nurse within my hearing for what I thought was a minor infraction. I left feeling I received poor care and that the doctor needed a long vacation in order to resolve some of her own issues.
