Plica removal. Dr. Theiss's estimate was that I would be hiking in 4 to 6 weeks with no physical therapy required. Actual time was 6 months with 4 months of physical therapy. Experienced quadricep atrophy, adhesions, and knee stickiness. Did not explain the full risk to me. Typically, he was 45 min late for office visits even though I had early morning appointments. Bottomline: He fixed my knee (no pain), but recovery period was more like 10 months not six weeks.

Great doctor. The one thing that stood out is that he took his time to talk to me. He listened. Did not rush me and only finished the consultation when he was sure all my concerns were answered. Now a days, everyone is in a rush. No one takes the time to listen. I was very surprised to find a doctor with this much patience. Definitely recommend. Best doctor. Plus, he gave me some very realistic solutions to my knee problems.

Dr Thiess is an amazing caring Dr who has done a few surgeries for us. His office mananger however does not return calls and seems to be a control freak. I have never called a Dr's office and needed to leave a message (multiple messages actually) just to get a call back from the office mananger to make an appointment. Usually you just make an appointment with the receptionist. Very inconvienent and strange. it is a shame I doubt Dr Theiss even knows how hard it is to get a return call from them! Great caring Dr terrible office and staff.

Dr. Theiss has operated on both of my knees. He not only is knowledgeable, but listens and ask questions. I rate him as #1 in the area for orthopedics.

Dr. Theiss is an amazing doctor! He fixed two injuries of mine the most recent one being a serious but rare injury. He caught this injury despite the fact that another hospital's ER (not in the INOVA system) did not even have a hunch about what was wrong.He was able to reduce the fracture without traditional surgery and was very prompt in getting me into the hospital so that the fracture could be reduced.

Dr. Theiss is an incredible dr. He has performed 3 surgeries for our family, and all were 100% successful. The only downside is his office mgr Lisa. She needs to be put out to pasture! Refuse to deal with her, if at all possible.

Dr. Theiss was wonderful to me. He found the cause of my knee problem that no other doctor had been able to find and he fixed it. I had suffered for 35 years until he found the problem that made my knee swell up. He went the extra mile. I am grateful every day for his work on me.
