My Child was birthed thru a C Section for no other reason than what the Nurse later told me was that Dr Stevens had dinner plans she did not want to miss !! My Child had to be resuscitated and I was never told this by anyone at the Hospital or By Doctor Stevens..Years later I am discovering this. It was totally concealed from me at the time of the C-Section.... I saw dr. Stevens in 2003-2004 when I was pregnant with my first. Not only did she make me feel my presence in her office was a waste of her time but that I was a complete idiot. I recall asking her several times about what to and what not to eat, she dismissed my concerns about my vision changing, extreme weight gain and swelling. Dr. Stevens told me to simply "cut out the salt, take walks." All which I did, I ate healthier than I had my whole life. I moved when I was 36 weeks and my new OBGYN informed me I had gestational diabetes. I am so glad I moved, dispite her advice not to. I would never recommend her.

I went to Dr. Stevens before I had insurance, and I felt her price for cash patients of $120 was fair. She gave me ample refills of my medication and there were a few times I called the office to ask if they could call me in a different birth control pill or an antibiotic for a UTI, and they did it without me having to go in. That was nice, but I ended up leaving this office because I just felt like Dr. Steven's bedside manner was very lacking. This is purely speculation but I also suspected she was under the influence of some medication. Her eyes were glassy and she was seemed to take a long time to process what I was saying. I may have interpreted that wrong but it left me feeling uncomfortable. She also told me that the lab work for STD tests weren't very expensive and it ended up being $553. I should have checked myself but I took her word on it. She should have just said she didn't know. She also dismissed my severe period pain, and that was the last straw for me.

Being a new patient I had to fill out the usual papers. Using only that paperwork Dr. Stevens was adamant there was strong possibility of ovarian cancer, before she ever examined me or asked for symptoms. I had a CT scan and it was normal but she refused to discuss the full results. I had to find out on my own I had hardening of the arteries as a result of that scan. I still have not heard from her, and it's been over a month, even though I've made numerous requests for her to contact me. I will never use her again and will never recommend her either. She has made me feel that since her "diagnosis" was wrong, or the fact that my problem has nothing to do with her "field of expertise that I can go take a hike.

I was dumbfounded at the fact that a doctor could get away with charging me $2500.00 for a delivery that is covered by my insurance. It absolutely amazes me that Dr. Stevens and her office has the ability to be as crooked and corrupt as they are. I was a patient of Dr. Steven's during my second pregnancy and I felt that because I was an inconvience to her schedule, I was pushed aside and given information that I could have researched on WebMD.com!! I feel that if you have medicaid for your insurance, Dr. Stevens is NOT the right doctor for you. In my experience, she only used my visits to collect the $$$!!! I was even seen for the same appointment three times in a row!!! A non-stress test seems rediculous to me- I'm pregnant, I'm going to be slightly stressed about my new arrival. In closing....I would like to add that some of the staff are considerate and actually care about YOUR well-being. But the doctor, herself, is money greedy, uncaring, and lacks a sense of professional courtesy

I was impressed the first time I went in to see Dr. Stevens because her bed side manner is outstanding. I felt comfortable with her from the second she started to speak to me. However since my first visit with her I've been explaining all of my symptoms which I feel are probably endometriosis. She continues to blow me off saying that if I get pregnant the endo will go away. How will I know if I even have endo if she won't check me for it. She says she has too many deliveries to do this summer. She continues to put me off. I feel that she is not aggressive at all when it comes to anything other than the labor and deliver aspect of her job. If you are in pain and seeking immediate treatment I would not go to her. She will just say she would like to see you in 3 months again and again. And don't even bother asking for meds, she won't give you any!

Dr. Stevens was pleasant and knowledgeable, but I will be looking for a new OB next time around for two reasons: She stripped my membranes without asking at 37 weeks -- too early to be trying to encourage a delivery without the patient's permission. Also, the nurse delivered the baby because she didn't make it to the hospital in time.

Dr. Stevens has added too many patients to her practice and unfortunately, I believe, as evidenced by the last 3 visits, everyone suffers. My average wait time to be seen was an astounding 2 hours! Life is too short and I am going elsewhere...
