Dr Fleeter needs to retire. He still practices using old school methods that he should have discarded for current practices. He did a hip injection on me that was EXTREMELY painful, where I grabbing the nurse’s hand. I later discovered that he used a large gauge needle, when he should have used a much smaller one. We were discussing the probability of me getting a hip replacement in the future. Then, I had a terrible accident, unrelated to my hip, and was taken by ambulance to the local hospital’s emergency room. He, and another orthopedic surgeon that I’d been seeing, showed up. I remember looking at their two faces through my pain, and he said “We’re supposed to be doing your hip!!” What kind of bedside manner is that?!?! He’s so money oriented that he’s lost sight of the patient and their needs.

After 5 years of seeing my husband suffer so many problems and facing a surgery in January I had to write on this review.
In 2012 Dr. Fleeter operated on my husbands hip. The surgery was supposed to take only 2-3 hours Dr. Fleeter told me. Well after 6 hours I was getting so stressed. When Dr. Fleeter came out he joked "What did you think I was pounding on your husband's chest?" I answered "yes, I did". He tried to replace the hip part and it didn't fit. Then he tried another part and it didn't fit.
Also, my husband's leg was broken by trying to fit a part that was not for him. Now remember, my husband had been under for a very long time. The correct part had to be order from Richmond, Virginia. That would be the next day. So my husband was in ICU overnight.
The next day the part arrived and he was just beginning the nightmare.
Although he had the hip replaced he was developing a Ileus. That is when the intestines don't function properly. The abdomen fills with air and my husband's stomach was getting larger and larger. Fleeter went on a trip to a concert and sent in his assistant. He refused to listen to me and said he only did orthopedic work and didn't know what I was talking about.
Very rude and completely not interested.
Fleeter returned from his concert tour and he too seemed completely disinterested. He seemed to get nervous over the fact that I was getting upset. He said he thought my husband came in as a "fat man". I didn't find humor in that. He also began to tell me that all the doctors had one another's back and would always be there for one another. He showed me a picture as he came in dressed up one day of all the doctors and said they were getting staff pictures done and they were really good friends and there for one another. It made me sick.
My husband's kidneys were taking a hit from the diarrhea and a kidney doctor was so worried about him going into kidney failure.
I kept complaining and a nurse said you have to go to the top, there is nothing we can do.
I contacted the patient affairs and they took my statement but never contacted me or did anything to help us.
One day my husband cardiologist came in to see him and I asked him why my husband's stomach was so large and he immediately recognized it as an ileus.
It was 30 days in Reston Hospital. His former doctor that did his colonoscopies dropped my husband and said it was the end of his expertise. He was doctor Fleeter's best friend at that time I was told that by Dr. Fleeter. They were trying to get my husband out of there before something happened I believe.
Thirty days and no help from Dr. Fleeter in any direction. If that ileus had been discovered earlier my husband would not have gone from 42 pants at 6'2" to 48-50 inch pants.
He has struggled for 5 years. We have been to many doctors and no one could or would help him because it now going to be a risky surgery.
He was trusting Dr. Fleeter to help him. I found Dr. Fleeter to be not only careless with making certain the "parts" were correct or having on hand everything you need but joking and not realizing how it cost my husband his quality of life.
My husband is now facing having his large intestine removed. The colon is dead. He goes to the bathroom at least 10-15 times a day. He has constant health issues. The stomach large, filled with air that can get out and could rupture. That could kill him.
He gets colds easily and can't expand the lungs. The list goes on and on for him daily.
This was caused by back to back to back surgery and no one paying attention to the patient.
My husband also had marks on his back. No one could answer where they came from. I said he didn't come in her with them. I took pictures and still have them. They were large circles on his back and were cut. I asked if he was placed on a table that would do that and the nurses said no.
We have found a wonderful doctor that will do his surgery but he will possible have a bag now and the doctor says that will improve his quality of life.
This has been a long road for us. We are people of faith and we are praying for a good outcome for my husband.
I asked Dr. Fleeter one day, "What happened to do no Harm??" I felt his pledge to my husband was broken by neglect.
All of this caused by not being prepared and knowing your patient's needs. By protecting himself by letting me know that if a law suit was on my mind I had better forget it because they would side together and we'd never win. Actually until then I hadn't thought of it.
But I wouldn't wish this on anyone else. That is why I'm speaking out.

My Father received a knee replacement 4 years ago, and within months after his recover his kneecap shifted to the side of his knee. This called for a revision, which meant another surgery, and more recovery. My father fell as a result of the "recovered" knee being unstable which led him to fall and hurt his knee further. Another revision was in place and more therapy was prescribed. We decided to go to a different therapy location, because it seemed as if the therapy Fleeter had in his practice was not up to any medical standard and left my father's knee, still unstable. My father fell AGAIN from the instability and this time, he broke his femur. I regret ever meeting this doctor and I hope he doesn't operate on anyone else because I feel he ruined my fathers leg... he can barely walk... he had a heart operation in 2009 and his health has taken a severe downturn since Dr. Fleeter ruined his leg. Before his knee surgery he would bike >20 miles a week... now he says he feels a grinding in his knee and its uncomfortable. This man has hurt my family extremely deeply and it goes beyond just what my father experienced. please see someone else because this man is getting away with bad bad bad stuff.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Fleeter. He worked on my very complicated hip and knee problems and did a wonderful job. He was compassionate and caring throughout the process. His staff and assistants were also very kind and helpful.

I saw Dr Fleeter 18 months ago for a torn ACL and at first it seemed like he was the Doctor I could trust. He told me my best option was to use a part of my hamstring that wasnt that necessary (BS) instead of using a cadavre because there was less of a risk of infection, and it would be easier on my leg. Well I got a cellulitic infection and in 3 days it felt like razor blades were seperating my calf from my shin. I came in knowing there was a problem and after they determined it was an infection he proceeded to make a wiseass remark saying, "Well i didnt spit in it." After his explanation he told me to stay on antibiotics but he totally forgot about the excruciating pain i was in and the fact the dinky percocete he gave me was not helping with this pain. Furthermore his therapy clinic was overworked, at a certain point i couldnt schedule a session for over a month. This was a huge problem because my leg was suffering from muscle atrophy and they had my therapy script. I had to ask for another script to go somewhere else which helped but my leg is still fucked because i had extra recovery time for the cellulitis. If i had to guess its because he took a piece of my hamstring out misleading me to think itll be all fine and better than a cadavre. Looking back on this, it seems he was cutting corners and saving valuable body parts for other surgeries or whatever. It does not end there though, because my Dad also had knee replacement surgery with this guy and a couple months later, my Dads kneecap shifted out of socket, slipping to the side of his knee! The worst part about this was his explanation, which sounded like a politician making stuff up and spinning the question around, failing to give a clear answer. I know because i was there and it was after my dad had complications that i began to be sketched out. I dont know about my dads knee, it really worries me, he has a lot of trouble moving and its become a vicious cycle with his weight problem. I recommend anyone but Dr. Fleeter for any orthopedic needs because this guy is just hiding behind a practice that helps a lot of athletes. For the common folk he doesnt care and will likely make you a casualty of malpractice.
That being said Tanya was great and the most helpful through the whole process.

Saw Dr. Fleeter for a shoulder labrum tear and bone chip removal a few years ago with very minimal scarring. He did a fantastic job, and was extremely helpful with the whole process. He was honest about my recovery and chances of participating in sports again, and was very compassionate through the whole process. 100% recommend him for surgeries.

While most of the staff and Dr Fleeter are wonderful, Tanya, Dr Fleeter's assistance is very rude. When you have questions or want clarification, she prefices her comments with...like I was saying. Her manner leaves a lot to be desired. She alone has given me the bad experience with their office. My son has had 2 surgeries with dr fleeter and both times she was like this. She has been "snarky" each time dealing with her.

I saw Dr. Fleeter and another Dr. in the DC area for a meniscus scope. After my consultations, I determined that both drs. would probably do a good job. I liked Dr. Fleeter and had known about him since I have lived in the area for a number of years.

Given that I thought both drs. would probably do a good job, the criteria that pushed it over for me to choose Dr. Fleeter was my office experiences. While at the other office, it always seemed chaotic and I had to wait sometimes over an hour, Dr. Fleeter's office was relaxed, efficient, professional and I never had to wait more than 15 minutes past my appointment time.

I am now 9 days out of a knee scope from Dr. Fleeter, have almost zero swelling, no pain, the pain that I had before was gone and did 45 minutes on the ellipitical yesterday. Needless to say, the outcome of my surgery far exceeded my expectations. I am super happy with the results.

Dr. Fleeter did both of my hip replacements. He was patient, always answered my questions with intelligence and humor. My hips are perfect; no pain, no problems. He called me regularly after surgery to check on my progress. I would strongly recommend Dr. Fleeter
