When I first saw Dr Justino, he seemed like the answer to my back problems.
After seeing other health care professionals and learning more about back problems, it feels as if he was just preying on my pain. His treatments did nothing for my pain the whole time I was seeing him.
His initial consultation was very cursory, and he referred me to get x-rays. He did no adjustments at this time (very disappointing).
When I brought the X-rays to his office, he pointed out all the ways my back was screwed up, and said that he could make it better. I had a lot of hope.
I've since learned that every adult in the country has things that are not perfect about their backs, most of the time this results in no pain, and that he could say the same thing to every person that came through his door.
It's not about finding imperfections in the spine, it's about finding the source of my pain.
As I asked more questions during the adjustments, things he was saying just didn't seem to make sense, and after a few weeks I stopped treatment.
None of his adjustments alleviated my pain. He wasn't treating my back for what was really hurting me (spondylolisthesis), only for conditions he saw on the x-ray.
At least he didn't make my condition worse, he just delayed the time it took to get a correct assessment of my back, proper treatment of my back, and increased the pain I had for weeks.
