6 months ago my husband had a knee replacement by Dr Mason. Post surgery was a nightmare with 4 major bleeds and many long trips to Whangarei hospital for emergency admissions. 5 months on another surgeon investigated his deteriorating knee and immense pain, resulting in my husband having to have another full knee replacement again by this more professional surgeon who actually cared and followed up, unlike Dr Manson who did not respond to our concerns and show any ounce of caring at all post surgery. At no time after the first surgery did my husband ever meet Dr Manson again due to Dr Manson not making himself available and respond to our stressful situation. The corrective surgery took place 4 weeks ago & already that lovely surgeon has shown wonderful follow up and genuine care. A vast difference from Dr Manson who we certainly would never recommend after our dreadful ordeal & unnecessary suffering my husband endured. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through the same ordeal as us.

Gobsmacked by my visit. Thought I would get some help from him but apparently not interested in my pain. His only concern was my weight which has gone up but difficult when unable to mobilize etc. Very disappointed elderly person, who has no one else to turn to except drugs.

I was referred to Dr Manson, by my physiotherapist, for a very ambiguous debilitating pain. After seeing several unintuative, non switched on drs and having many expensive scans, finally Dr Manson reviewed my case and ordered the "right scan" which revealed the culprit, which was surgically fixable.
I am eternally thankful to Dr Manson for his empathetic insight and very precise surgery, which has enabled me to return to my active hard working lifestyle.
I wholeheartedly recommend him.

This man is unscientific, unprofessional and has malign narcissistic characteristics. His cavalier, obstructive, and at times needlessly cruel manner has impacted me severely. My surgery has crippled me. Beware this surgeon.

He is an excellent surgeon who successfully fixed my neck problems with ACDF every step leading up to the surgery I was well informed. He is an excellent surgeon and I would feel extremely safe in his hands if ever needed again. My ACDF was done at Whangarei hospital. Everyone there took great care of me. Arrogant, made an honest mistake but then tried to cover it up and fix it himself when he should have referred my case to a more specialized department. Every time I turned up in ed saying things were not right him or his registrar would down play my symptoms. I ended up very ill and required months of treatment. 2 years later I'm still not back at work.
