3. He was also the subject of a CBS LA news expose where he was outed for a non-FDA-approved mixture of two bone growth compounds, one from Stryker pharmaceuticals. This resulted in patients requiring many surgeries to remove uncontrolled bone growth which had crippled them.

He has a horrible reputation amongst his peers and is known as "Doctor Messy". A well-known neurologist tried to tell me before I had my first surgery that Dr. Mesiwala "Has very poor judgment." A very strong statement from one MD against another, which I wish I had taken seriously. Also, prior to my surgery my home health nurse asked if I had done any research on Dr. Mesiwala. He then told me about the TV exposé. I blame myself for not heeding the warnings. That's why in posting this.

This is a very dangerous and unscrupulous man who should not be practicing medicine. I had three failed surgeries from him. The last one gave me a septic infection which put me in the ICU where my wife was told that I probably would not be going home. It was a total nightmare for me and my family. The hospital doctor on my case was very frank with me and said she "was shocked that he was still allowed to practice medicine."

Do your own research, then go almost anywhere else.

I've had several surgeries with Mesiwala since 2007 and wouldn't have had them done by any other doctor. He's very good at what he does. His PA's are wonderful.

He is being investigated for fraudulent use of physician owned implants. It's all about the money with this guy.

I just drove An hour down there taking time off work only to find out my appointment was canceled. Apparently Amanda left me a voicemail confirming my appt on Sunday and because I didn't call her back to confirm she didn't call me to tell me dr had jury duty. I told her I called back on Sunday and got the answering service! And forgot to confirm during the week so because of that you fail to let me know that dr has jury duty and you need to cancel my appt?!?! Such a ridiculous person working the front desk. You'd think someone working customer service would reach out and call to confirm once again if they hadn't heard From the patient or let them know they were going to cancel! Such a waste of time on my end. I am extremely angry and called my dr to change my referral to someone else

Dr. Mesiwala and PA Michelle Lancaster were very cordial and explained the surgery procedure expertly. I had chronic acute sciatica caused by a fractured vertebrae. After more than 2 months of insurance company protocol, I was finally able to have surgery scheduled with Dr. Mesiwala. In one hour of surgery, he eliminated the pain entirely. I am so thankful to Dr. M for his skill and expertise; and so thankful to PA Michelle for the excellent way she mentally prepared me for the surgery. The other nurses in the operating center were very kind and courteous, as well. I would highly recommend Dr. M and his staff. So thankful for their help.

My experience with Dr. Mesiwala has been amazing. I was diagnosed with a Cavernous Angioma. I was referred to Dr. Mesiwala and he had all my scans and medical records sent to him right away. When my family and I went to see him for the first time, we were very impressed by him. He explained my options and gave me his best opinion (the Gamma Knife). The kindness and compassion he showed put me at ease. What he gave me was my life back and thank you will never be enough.

About a year ago my dad had weeks of back pain. Other doctors were just giving him the run around and only prescribing him pain medication. My dad was so bad he couldn't, stand, sit, or even lay for long periods of time. We then went to see Dr Mesiwala, who was recommended by many of our close friends. He was so great. Very attentive and had my dad ready for surgery in a very timely manner. The surgery was a success and my dad said he felt like a new man right after surgery. I would strongly recommend Dr Mesiwala to everyone I know.

I can not say enough nice things about this doctor! For months my mom was having neck pain and she was referred to Dr Mesiwala by a friend. The office was very clean and the staff was cheerful and efficient. She got her surgery date shortly after her appt and was told it would be an outpatient procedure at a surgery center nearby. She woke up pain free and said her neck felt better than before. Dr Mesiwala was great from beginning to end. He is very good at explaining things in a way that you can understand. The follow up visit was brief but he seemed thrilled that was able to help her. I believe he truly cares about his patients and their wellbeing. It's rare to find such doctors nowadays and I would recommend him to anyone I know!

Love Dr. Mesiwala! After living with pain for over 2 years, I'm now pain free! Nothing seemed to work until my physician finally referred me to Dr. Mesiwala and I finally got an MRI. Quick out patient procedure and I'm back to the gym and living my life again!!!
