To each there own I guess, I found Dr. Cowell almost 4 years ago, after seeing another Dr. in the sare for the first time that told me just by talking to me about my history that I had cervical cancer and hadn't kept up on my yearly paps (which I most certainly do, because of my family history with ca and being a ca survivor). I was so upset and furious that I walked right out. I foud Dr. Cowell on line and was able to get in withing a week. Office is very clean and homey, PLENTY of reading material and I have never had to wait more then a few minutes to see her. She couldn't understand why the previous Dr. would say something like she did and why, since I hand carried my records to her and the previous Dr. and it showed that I had the tests mentioned above. She's always been very thorough and understanding and always takes the time to explain everything!!!!

My daughter was under sedation for surgery in her back office when she went out to the parking lot to sell a weed eater out of the trunk of her car. I could not believe what I was seeing. To say this woman is incompetent is an understatement. I would not take my dog to see her.

Dr. Cowell is a wonderful human person! She has helped me beyond her scope of practice, noticing other health concerns and referred me to other associated doctors. My health is improving greatly, thanks to her intuitive keen eye.

Worst OBGYN can't believe she still has a license. Went to her when I was 5 months pregnant cuz I just moved to the area. She made my pregnancy miserable! She even scheduled an amnio for me to check my babies lungs for induction and DIDNT CONSULT ME! Think of my shock when I walked into her office and the reception says "are you ready for your amnio"!!! She scolded me for refusing induction at 38 weeks. She even offered me an elected c section to "preserve my genitals"! And after all that when I was ready to deliver at Good Sam after 12 hours of labor the hospital staff couldn't find her!!! I had to wait 30 minutes with my legs closed for the on call doctor!!! And she billed my insurance for the delivery! I called my insurance and had them reverse the charge and send it back to her for "services not rendered" I consequently did not return to her for my 6 week checkup!!!!

Sorry! Would never go back or recomment anyone waste there time or $$ going to her. They are unsanitary and unprofessional to say the least! Believe me, any positive comments made were just the Dr. or staff doing some damage control. I've never seen a more cluttery and disorganized office in my life, seriously. Have spoken to others that went and will never return as well. Walk-ins welcome for a reason!

To begin with-Staff gets a 2 only because they were training a front desk person (good enough excuse for me). Dr Cowell saved my life, she ordered a colonoscopy be done prior to age 50 because of her extensive history review and information gathering. I had four polyps, one pre-cancerous, so it could have been too late for me by age 50. Thank you Dr Cowell, you are the best OBGYN I've ever had, and your funny to boot. Love the conversations we have about health and other more political views. My visits are easy going and more like visiting a friend, but always thorough.

I have a similar story to the previous poster. I found her after looking for a female OB/GYN. After using her for 8 out of the 9 months, she randomly "dropped" me and sent me to Dr. Jung (thankfully, a wonderful doctor!). Later, I found out that Good Sam pulled her license to deliver there, which explains why she was still willing to be my GYN. Looking back, I am so glad she referred me to Dr. Jung because after a very complicated delivery, I don't think Dr. Cowell would've been capable of taking as good care of me and my daughter as Dr. Jung did. In addition, Dr. Cowell doesn't have a very professional appearance. Most days, I don't think she even washed/combed her hair...and forget the makeup. But I will say that her staff was wonderful.

When I was pregnant in 2006 I was told by a nurse on my street that Dr. Cowell did not have credentials to actually deliver a baby. So, I called the office and they confirmed she would be "referring" me to another doctor. Come on, she knew this all along and waits until the patient asks. She is unethical and I heard she was very rough with babies.
