My psa went from 6 to 11 in 2014 but not biopsy done to check for cancer. In 2015 it was still at 11 but again no biopsy was done. In 2016 my psa shot to 17 and again Dr. Sterzer decided not to do a biopsy. However he told me about a new blood test that would give a percentage of yes or no for cancer. I had the blood test done and it showed that I had a 95% chance of cancer. A biopsy was then done and it confirmed the blood test. The cancer in the biopsy showed a Gleason rating of 3-4 and I elected to have the prostate removed. The biopsy of the prostate showed the Gleason rating to be 4-5 with 5-5 being the worst. The cancer was 45% of my prostate and had spread to the outside of the prostate. I just completed 39 radiation treatments to the prostate bed to kill any cancer there. I can not help but wonder that if a biopsy was done in 2014 that the results would not have been so bad. Although I am very grateful that there was a new blood test that saved my life.

I got an appointment very quickly. My appointment was on time. The Dr. was kind and polite, and he was also knowledgable and helpful. It was a very positive experience for me.
