Dr. Farzad Massoudi has been my trusted surgeon for 10 years during which time I have had 4 surgeries due to injuries/accidents. Dr. Massoudi is a highly skilled and recognized neurosurgeon. He is kind, compassionate, and has great empathy. Dr. Massoudi listens intently and doesn’t rush me during office visits.

While I was in the hospital I mentioned to Dr. Massoudi that this surgery was horrible, he agreed—-his agreeing with me may seem small, but to me, it was an acknowledgment of what I was going through. Another time I was in the hospital and he was doing his rounds. He actually took the time to lift my legs and put a pillow under my feet—-this was after back surgery because I couldn’t do it myself. These may seem like small gestures, but I was very touched by his kindness, compassion, and empathy.

Thanks to Dr. Massoudi and his amazing skills as a surgeon, I most definitely have a better quality of life.

The first people you see are front desk staff who are very friendly and efficient. They have everything ready to go (ie; papers filled out) when you are called back.
The last person you see is Sherry, the doctor's coordinator. She make sure that all your follow up assignments (ie: physical therapy, x-rays needed) are ready to go. She also makes sure that your follow-up visits are scheduled right away.
Now, about the doctor himself... I found that Dr. Massoudi is a great neurosurgeon. One operation (fission of C4 - 7) and my life is 300% better already. He's got a great bedside manner, too. He made sure to check on me both days I was in the hospital, looking happy and positive, good vibes all around.. His first follow-up visit, again, was nothing but good vibes. We did not have to wait long for him to join us in the room. He answered all my questions, explained everything that was done (he had lots of "toy" spinal parts showing all the different ways you can be fixed, showing me which hardware I have and comparing it to my xrays).and still needs to be do it done for a swift recovery, I highly recommend Dr. Massoudi if you ever need Neurosurgery. You are safe in his hands.

I had back surgery with Dr. Massoudi in 2016 for a 10 mm and 4 mm herniation along with a bone spur from waiting 10 years to get surgery. It has been six years and I'm still doing incredible. Dr. Massoudi goes above and beyond from the first visit to after I finished PT. My mother has been seeing many doctors for back issues and I am constantly disappointed comparing with the experience I had with Dr. Massoudi. I am so grateful that I had my back surgery with Dr. Massoudi. I had one surgery and have been excellent ever since. I joke that i have a bionic back because I can do things I was unable to do before surgery
and even before my injury. I think that is a huge testament to his expertise. We no longer live in California and if my mother ends up needing surgery, we will be taking her back to California because I trust noone but Dr. Massoudi to work on her back. He is the best surgeon and anyone saying otherwise is sadly misinformed.

Apparently y'all have no real clue as to what a jacked up surgery really is. I've had 3 surgeries by Dr Massoudi, the last being 4 days ago. After reading the MRI he exclaimed that it looked like a bomb went off in my spine!! In total, this was my 13th surgery, 10th neurological. This man is touted by his colleagues up and down the County, and yet you obviously miserable people, seem to want to destroy his hard earned reputation by your heinous verbage and accusatory stories of intentional neglect.
Y'all need to do your "due diligence" & stop with your slanderous bullshit. My guess is that most who've had post operative unforseen complications were bcuz there were underlying medical issues that interfered with complete recovery. If y'all think for one moment this Dr. intentionally set out to screw y'all over or mess with your health, then I recommend a visit to a psychotherapist / psychiatrist specializing in delusional episodes who can dispense medications to get you back to ground zero.
He's brilliant, personable and concise, he's not there to be your best friend or to listen ad nauseam your chronicles of how terrible your life has been. Don't waste the time of a talent like his, there's the rest of us who've defied the odds and are glowing, grateful and supportive patients of Dr Massoudi's.
Geez people, I'm disgusted at the venom spewed from y'all's mouths. This is America, you have the freedom to choose whomever you wish to work on your issues, but just cuz your neurosis overcomes your sanity, how about get that under control and stop with this disgraceful, ungrateful, embarrassing, misleading parade of lies.
Dr Massoudi, my condolences for the ingrates you've had to deal with. I wouldn't give them another minute of your time!!!

In 2015 I had brain surgery to remove a brain tumor. This doctor put me through absolute turmoil and as a result I have extreme PTSD as diagnosed by my therapist. I will not disclose all of the details here on a public forum. I will just say that he lied to me several times. The most devastating lie, both emotionally and physically, he told me was that he removed 100% my tumor during surgery. Because of that lie, I started chemo and radiation thinking that my tumor was gone. Total resection of a tumor is the most favorable outcome before starting radiation. You can not repeat radiation after it's been done. I would NEVER have started radiation without a full resection of the tumor. Because of Dr. Massoudi's negligence my life was nearly destroyed. I had severe headaches during radiation and that is when it was discovered that I actually STILL HAD THE TUMOR IN MY BRAIN! Dr. Massoudi acted like he had no idea why my scans were still showing tumor. After getting third opinions by actual brain surgery professional, they were SHOCKED by Dr. Massoudi's poor work and the lies he told. These doctors found this Massoudi in actuality had only removed 15 PERCENT of my tumor. And because of his negligence, my Stage 3 diagnosis turned into Stage 4. STAY AWAY at ALL COSTS from this "doctor". being worked on by him is the greatest mistake and regret of my life.

I am very disappointed with my recent experience with Dr Farzad Massoudi DO NOT under any circumstances see this guy. He is exceptionally arrogant, has a terrible attitude, and ZERO regard for patient well being. It all started when we started we got our first appointment about 3 months ago, we were about to go to our appointment when we got a call and the staff said the doctor cant see our patient today. The second time our appointment got declined because the doctor had to do a surgery on another patient, and today the third for the third time we were on our way to the appointment and we were 10 minutes late because of the traffic. We got a call from a staff member named Shirin and we were explaining why we were late and this was our third time visiting when they rudely ended our call. We got to the place and the staff rudely told us the doctor can doesn't want to check on us because we were a little late. If I could give them a 0 overall for their customer service, staff, and even the doctor I would.

Dr. Massoudi and his office manager Shelly are both heartless, unprofessional, and have no regards for patients. He canceled my appointment 4 times and when I expressed my frustration to Shelly, she finally scheduled me a time to actually see the doctor. I thought I was finally going to get help but all Dr. Massoudi did was tell me, what could’ve been said over the phone in 5 minutes, that he can’t help me because I expressed my frustration with his 4 prior cancellations on me. On top of that, he charged me for this visit just to tell me that he couldn’t help me! Meanwhile I’ve been in excruciating pain for the past 2.5 months .
