I was surprised by some of the negative comments here. I haven't been to Dr Burchman in over 20 years because I moved out of the area. I was looking to see if he was still in practice because my new dentist doesn't seem to understand that most times novocaine doesn't work on me, but Dr Burchman got that and found a way to get me numb for 2 root canals, which are still fine to this day. He was a bit unorthodox but I connected with that and really liked the guy. So, I'm sorry to see the negativity but felt obliged to say the man saved me from losing all my teeth. I was a train wreck when I first went to see him and it took numerous visits to get all my problems corrected, but he stuck with it and got me through it. So, there's that!

To anyone that wants to save their teeth do not go to Dr. Burchman. He is not up to date with his dentistry. He did a root canal for me and i just found out that there are broken pieces of the tools that he used left in my tooth. All of the caps that he installed in my mouth were not fitted properly and now i have decay under them. As far as cleaning he needs to stop doing that himself and hire someone that knows how to clean teeth properly. I went to Dr. High Tech for 4 years and just found out that i never had a proper cleaning done there. Mr. Burchman needs to stop calling himself Dr. High Tech and go back to dential school to learn how to take care of patients properly I would never refer anyone to go to him. Please do not waste you time or money find a better dentist that will take the time to care for teeth properly. he is a real tooth butcher.

I paid cash for a root canal and crown. The crown was sent back twice because the color was waaaaay off. I did not go back after getting the crown. I am now undergoing endodontic treatment because the root canal was so poorly executed that another infection set in. I will also be getting another crown because the one Burchman did was horrible. My next "review" will be a complaint and current x-rays to the to the PA Board of Professionals.

Profoundly agree with the other comments! Front office staff unprofessional, poor overall appearance. Mrs.Burchman, Sue, Office manager, NEVER lets you forget how much things "cost". I have been diagnosed with breast cancer and lost my dental insurance. This office practices no compassion even though I have paid every bill. The entire office staff, including Dr.Mel, has violated my HIPPA rights and has told people very very negative things about me. Hey, look, I am a second year resident,M.D., I had impeccable dental health until my many illnesses. Mean, uncaring and unprofessional. They flaunt their "things" to you If anything, I have learned how to be an empathetic and sympathetic Physician. The "Nobody cries in my office" tag line is not only false but scary from my personal point of view.

They did not submit paperwork for dental work completed and refused to give the proper papers to me or the Ins company for reimbursement. I was out of pocket a large amount for the 1 visit and never went back because of the rude staff and the office's refusal to put in the claim. They were not interested in being helpful since they had been paid cash. Worst doctor or dentist I ever met.

While under sedation I was given the start of a root canal,which I did not give permission for.Ifelt foolish and intimidated,paid this bill and left,not knowing what else to do.He sent me bills for the rest of the procedure(325.00)even though I never went back.My husband called to resolve,and got screamed at by Burchman.Burchman made fun of me for gaining weight,(162lbs.,5'6",told me "who needs women?" and made other strange & rude comments to & about me while I was his patient."Nobody cries in my office" is his slogan,I wouldn't give him that satisfaction.Happily I found a great & kind new dentist.
