Unlike the reviews before me I appreciate a doctor that doesn't sugar coat things. Is there room for improvement? Sure there is but I could say the same for every physician I've ever seen. I can call to schedule an appointment and instead of being referred to the ER or clinic (my prior physician's answer for everything) I would get an appointment same day or at the latest the next. There's no waiting out with a bunch of other sick people but for a few minutes. Prior physician? I was lucky to be in a room within 45 - 60 minutes. Does he come across as being an a**? Sometimes, but then I just deal it right back to him. He's got a demeanor that not all patients would be able to handle. Our family doesn't have an issue with him and will continue to use his services.

Definitely have to agree with the other negative comment concerning Dr Knabel!
He doesn't even let me explain why I'm there, cuts me off while I'm describing what all the symptoms are leading up to the main issue, and dismisses me. It takes something very bothersome in my daily life (interrupting sleep, work, etc) and being on going for a relative amount of time before I will even go to the doctor... then to be dismissed as if the problem started yesterday and I'm overreacting makes not even want to go see him if I were on my deathbed. He's rude, arrogant, lacks compassion for patients, and does not care to hear why you're even there. If he listened well he wouldn't have tried the same treatment I'd already received from the ER, which temporarily put some of my symptoms at bay, but the serious problem is still there. Hopefully I don't have another near death experience AGAIN! before finding a new Doctor and actually getting to root of the problem because I would rather die than go to him again.... YES! He's that terrible!Thank God for the ER is all I have to say when asked about Dr Knabel!

In my experience, He is a real a**hole. He was rude, uncaring, and didn't listen at all. He was egotistical and didn't give a hoot about me or how I felt. I would NEVER return or recommend him again to anyone. In fact, I am changing doctor groups bc I haven't found a good one yet at IU Health. Very sad and pathetic IU has a school of medicine and yet their doctors are not worthwhile.
