I had a complicated injury and needed to have an open reduction and internal fixation of the right proximal ulna fracture. I also had to have a right radial head replacement. While searching for an Orthopedic Surgeon, I was looking for an experienced doctor who is professional, attentive, compassionate and caring.
Dr. Biordo thoroughly explained the details of my procedure and provided excellent care. The consultations with him have always been an enjoyable experience. He made me feel confident to a future road to recovery. I am very glad to have been treated by Dr. Biordo. He is incomparable. I would highly recommend him to everyone requiring orthopedic procedures. My overall experience with Dr. Biordo was excellent. His staff is also helpful, friendly, and professional.

I had a bone spur on my right foot and went to see a podiatrist. He saw that I had a scar on my foot from a previous operation (done by Dr. Boiardo) I saw him several times and he told me each time emphatically not to have the spur removed because it was too dangerous because of the existing scar which would have to be reopened. I didn't trust his evaluation, so I returned to Dr. Boiardo because I trust his judgment to a fault. Bottom line: The spur has been removed and I made a terrific recovery. I recommend him highly. I trust his honesty and integrity and if you're smart you'll do the same!

Summer, 2020
The physician’s assistant is examining my hips at the beginning of Dr. Boiardo’s recent followup exam. While I’m seated on the exam table, legs hanging over the side, he begins with my right leg, very carefully swaying my foot to the right about six inches or so, then to the left, and a few more times, a little bit more each time, each way, careful to not cause any pain. “I’m checking your range of motion”, he says.
Not meaning to surprise him, I quickly volunteered quite a lot more excellent and well-controlled motion with each leg, painlessly and nearly effortlessly.
It had been only several months after Doctor Boiardo had done a complete hip replacement on my right side, and only about six months after the complete hip replacement on my left. During the ensuing months of physical therapy each time, the physical therapists often commented on my excellent range of motion, while training my long-atrophied or otherwise maladjusted musculature to adapt to my new, now-perfect hips.
Beginning about a year and a half earlier, before ever having been referred to Dr. Boiardo, I had been examined and treated by other well-respected doctors in orthopedics elsewhere, without healing; some believing that my back was the source of the ongoing pain, three times administering shots into my spine while under anesthesia. But my back was not the problem; not the cause for my ongoing and very severe pain.
I had already lost my long-term employment due to my physical condition. .
It was one of these doctors who wrote on his own prescription pad for me to see Dr. Boiardo by name, there-with citing the need for Dr. Boiardo’s expertise in anterior hip replacement surgery.
And that’s why I’m healing so well now.
Dr. Boiardo truly cares deeply about his patients; about our physical recovery and quality of life. For some of us, we may call our healing as “operations and physical therapy”. But my lifetime work and activities usually required mobility and agility, and after the severity of my conditions, I consider mine to be “life restoring.”
There is no better orthopedic surgeon than Doctor Boiardo -- his professional peers know this, as I certainly do.
I am forever grateful to Doctor Boiardo for the relief from years of pain and decline, and for my being well on my way to regaining my health and my life as I knew it years before.
Most Gratefully and Respectfully,
David Wenberg

5 stars just wouldn't be enough to rate Dr. Boiardo on his work ethic, professionalism, and passion for his career. On July 18th 2015 I was involved in a motorcycle accident. I was hit head on by a suv that was being operated by a heroin addict that had doze off behind the wheel and crossed into my lane. I was air lifted by a helicopter to a near by hospital in Pennsylvania where I was treated with multiple cleanings and external fixador was put on my leg to keep the damaged femur from moving around in my leg, and a week later I was transferred to University Hospital located in Newark Nj. There I was treated for a compound fracture to my femur and upper knee. I was put under anastasia at least 15-16 times. I had multiple cleanings, removal of broken hardware that had failed multiple times & also caught staphylococcus infection while I was in university hospital, which could of lead to death or amputation of my leg luckily I got cured of it after injecting myself with antibiotics for 12 weeks through a picc line & antibiotics by mouth for 2 weeks. Long story short I was waiting on surgery for multiple months which kept getting canceled. So I decided to go look for a second opinion. Called multiple orthopedic doctors and all refused to work on my leg since they didn’t want to be responsible for another doctors error. So I was treated by university hospital from 2015- 2017 and after that I couldn’t continue to be treated by them I’ve been on crutches since then. Finally I came across Dr. Richard Boiardo I called the office and luckily got an appointment to sit and talk to Mr. Boiardo he was very professional, he asked me a few questions, documented everything I said as well as what he said on a tape recorder. Doctor Boiardo decided he would take my case. He gave me a few appointments to come in take x-rays and monitor my leg. He studied my leg for a few months till he had gathered enough information to go ahead and operate me. On April 1, 2019 Dr. Boiardo operated me at Hoboken hospital removed all broken hardware and replaced it with new hardware, I also lost 1” to my left leg which Dr Boiardo went ahead and added a bone graph. If I wasn’t at the office for an appointment Dr. Boiardo would personally call me to see how my pain was and make sure I was comfortable something Dr Mark Adams at university hospital never did. In fact I only saw him twice out of the multiple surgeries I had by him. It’s been 5 weeks since Dr. Boiardo has operated me and I feel great my femur is healing amazingly quick. It’s unbelievable! I’ve never been so happy, a week after surgery I had no pain nor infection, but Dr Boiardo continued with antibiotics till I was no longer at risk of infections. When I walk into the office I feel as I’m family, everyone treats you with respect & are extremely friendly. With this being said I trust Dr. Boiardo with my life, and will continue to refer him to family friends & who ever might be in need of a extremely fantastic and professional surgeon.

I am a retired high school football coach and have had experience with many ortho surgeons. I have had 12 total knee surgeries. Dr. Boiardo replaced both my knees in particular a severely damaged left knee. No one can believe the outcome I have had as I do between 8-10 miles a day in a combination of elliptical and power walking exercises. I believe in Dr. Boiardo so much I'm having shoulder replacement surgery by him.

Dr. Boiardo surgically repaired my son Carrick's badly broken arm (both the radius and the ulna) while he was in college - required re-breaking, re-setting, and pinning. His work was excellent! Carrick is now a U.S. Army 1st Lieutenant currently deployed in South Korea. His hobbies include rock-face climbing and hockey (both ice and roller). Without Dr. Boiardo's skilled work it is unlikely that he would be able to serve his country or pursue these recreational activities - thank you Dr. B!

There needs to be a higher rating for Dr Boiardo. I had extensive orthoscopic surgery today. Yes today! Walked out of the hospital with little or no pain. Torn medial meniscus causing severe chronic pain that I ignored. Doctor addressed the meniscus, shaved the bone , removed arthritic tissue and performed micro fracture treatment. The two physical therapists never saw someone walk up stair with in two hours of surgery. I was braced but place full weight bearing . I could not be more pleased.
