Dr Berger is a well established Gastroenterologist. Anyone with negative complaints or review should re evaluate their comments and visit a gi doc not at his calibre.
I could not come up with a negative comment if I tried.
One of the best!

Dr Berger performed a Halo treatment on my husband and we could not have asked for a better doctor, excellent experience from start to finish, hospital staff amazing, Dr Berger's gal Natalie was so very helpful. Dr Berger answered all our questions and the procedure went off without a problem. Would highly recommend him, his staff and the staff at Moncton Hospital!

If you are ever told you need a Halo treatment, Go to Dr. Berger! I have had 17 upper GI tests over the years for Barrett's Esophagus. It seemed to be hit and miss with Low grade, Indeterminate and High Grade. I learned that is not a science when biopsies are taken along your esophagus. . I learned that high grade can lead to cancer and it was suggested that I fly from Newfoundland to Moncton . The referral took four weeks and when I called and asked when I might have the procedure, the wonderful receptionist said "how about next Wednesday!" The procedure ( called a Halo treatment) in the Moncton Hospital took 20 minutes. I flew home eight hours later. Dr. Berger and his team were absolutely wonderful and I recommend them highly. With two treatments, the statistics show that there is a 90% likelihood that my Barretts will be gone. This is the only clinic in Atlantic Canada that does this procedure and we are fortunate to have him.

I saw Dr. Berger 2 years ago for a stomach ulcer I was sure I had. I waited 3 months to see him and he assumed my stomach issues were just “anxiety” (most likely because I’m a young woman) and invalidated my feelings. When I finally was booked for an endoscopy I was laying in the hospital bed about to go in and he said to me and my mom that he still doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with me, again invalidating the pain I felt for 4 months every time I tried to eat food. He put the camera down my stomach and then saw the ulcer he denied I had and then barely said a word to me after. His entire attitude throughout my visits made me feel like he thought I was wasting his time.. I thought about ending my life while in the care of this horrible man.

I was referred to our local general surgeon for a EMR Colonoscopy to remove a tumour in my Cecum. I was quite impressed with him and his willingness to answer my technical questions. During my non sedated colonoscopy which I observed he knew I was interested in the technical aspect of it all and provided commentary. Despite the fact he was unable to remove the tumour due to technical issues he still followed up with me after the colonoscopy in the waiting room.

I had extreme problems with his staff though at he office, took almost two months to reschedule my initial appointment. Each time I called staff said they would call back with new appointment but didn't. It took many calls and a resubmit of my initial dr referral to get my appointment rescheduled.
