I had been in Dr. Borelli's care until recently. I broke my fifth metatarsal. I went into Weil every two weeks for an x-ray to check the status of my bone healing. Initially, I was told that there was no reason to that believe surgery was necessary and that the way the fracture was aligned with my bone, this should heal on its own. On the second week x-ray, I was told there were no signs of healing but that this was normal. I also brought in a scooter that I was able to obtain free of charge. The doctor had a puzzled look on his face and asked why had I not thought about checking out the gift shop that was full of scooters. For the last x-ray that I received, I was told he showed no signs of healing, that the bone had shifted, and that surgery with a pin through my bone to was likely necessary to correct the brake. After hearing that I needed surgery and no indication given as to why my bone was not healing other than “that's the nature of the fracture”, and also after reading other reviews on Dr. Borelli and the Weil Ankle and Foot Institute, I decided it was time for a second opinion.

The new doctor I saw took a new set of x-rays. He told me that my bone in fact was healing, and took the time to show me where it was starting to fill in. He took an instrument that looked like a prong to my foot. It made vibrations. He placed it in different spots on my foot and asked me if I had any sensitivity or pain. I did not. He said that I would be walking out of my appointment that same day.

Getting a second opinion saved me money, time, and surgery. I would not recommend this doctor or the Weil Foot and Ankle Institute.

Incompetent! Arrogant! Doesn’t return calls. Told me I had vascular disease so I was smart enough to see a real MD/specialist who said I did not.

Dr. Borelli is the most incompetent doctor I have ever seen. He performed surgery on my foot incorrectly. I complained of terrible pain for months after the surgery and each visit he gave me a different reason for my pain. When I finally realized that he was not only an arrogant doctor, but an incompetent one, I found a real foot surgeon. I required extensive surgery to alleviate the pain and will probably never be pain free due to the irreparable damage Dr. Borelli did while "fixing"my original issue. I should have know from day one that if you need extensive foot surgery use a Surgeon NOT a Podiatrist. I know have a permanent deformity in my toe that will never allow me to be pain free. This man should not be allowed to practice. Do yourself a favor while you can and run, hobble, stumble (whatever it is you can do) away from this practice and this incompetent doctor and find someone who is competent and can treat your issues correctly.

Dr. Borelli is wonderful. I worked at the college of podiatry so I saw alot of podiatrists. He is the best one in my opinion. I have been a patient for 25 years. He is kind, and extremely knowledgeable. He is one of the most intelligent doctors I have known. Can not recommend him highly enough. He is an amazing diagnostician.he helped me after other podiatrists missed the diagnosis.

Dr. Borelli is unfriendly, condescending and unethical in his billing practices! He saw my son for a injury to his big toe. He looked at the X-ray and right away said "it's not broken, it's just a bruise to his growth plate." He then told us it was technically a fracture, but that he just needed to reduce his activity somewhat and rest it . He then brought out some crazy uncomfortable velcro strap which he said they make people wear after surgery. I asked him if we could just tape with Coban tape (ace-bandage like) as another Podiatrist had us do when this happened to another one of his toes and he gave me a dismissive, flippant response. He just wanted to sell us the $150 strap - which was frankly unwearable! The real problem came when we got the bill. In addition to a "detailed" office visit charge of $179 (ok, normal expected) he charged a $268 additional, separate billing code for treatment of fracture ( in addition to an expected X-ray charge). He DIDN'T TREAT ANYTHING - JUST LOOKED AT IT/SQUEEZED IT!! So now you get charged more depending on what your diagnosis is - not based on procedures actually performed by the doctor!! I think, frankly, he even called it a fracture so he could bill this code, as he admitted he couldn't see ANYTHING on the x-ray. $426 (after insurance) that I owe for a bruised toe. Whats more, I office smelled, was dirty - so much so my 11 year old boy (typical boy not a germ or dirtophobe) didn't even want to sit in the waiting room chairs and felt gross having his legs/feet touch the exam table (which had no covering of any kind). Gross office, people who are clearly in it for the money. Go somewhere else!!!!!

" Dr. " Borelli misdiagnosed the problem. He performed surgery without pre surgery testing, filed a report that I disputed. I had to have two corrective surgeries to attempt to straighten out the mess he left me in. When I kept complaining of the same pain, he just blew me off. He and Weil are the WORST. They care NOTHING about people. It is just about money. I have been through hell because of their horrible "care".
