Thorough, professional and very switched on in the areas of skin care and overall health and wellness imperatives.

Easy to communicate and very knowledgeable.

How is this doctor still allowed to treat patients. All members of my family have been seen and each time suffered some level of humiliation. To list a few;
Whilst suffering with post-partem depression, he asked if I was having trouble 'coming' with my husband. Prior to this on another visit was told my symptoms were psychosomatic (all in my head). I never booked with him again.
When taking my children for a skin check on their feet (wart) he took photos of their face with his mobile phone without my permission and when I questioned this he got annoyed. Also scared the kids with graphic descriptions of skin cancers. When I asked him not to go into too much detail he aggressively told me that he was the doctor, not me!
It's a great shame as the other doctors and receptionists have been professional.

I have considered Pete my doctor since first seeing him around 2020 when I went to YVMC, a short stroll from home, to get a medical cert. I had previously continued to cross town to see whatever doctor was free at the clinic near where I used to live. I immediately liked him, and felt he took the time to understand me and care for my health needs. I trust him completely, and feel reassured by him. Yes, he is often running late, but I ring the clinic before I leave home to check so as I don't need to sit around their waiting room. I was horrified last year when I learnt that I can no longer call him my doctor.

Dr rankin used to be my family doctor ever since I was little. He used to be very great, knowledgeable and personable until a few years ago he carelessly scrabbled something sharp and was poking around my skin causing a lesion as I was talking about some ingrown hair on my arm. HE DID NOT ASK FOR CONSENT. He didn’t check to see if the tool was clean and he just grabbed it from his desk… we’ll surprise when that area later became infected and for the first time in my life I had a cyst that quickly became infected. It was about 5cm… I was scared and confused and I called the doctors to meet with him again. There was push back but I told them he caused this because he did. He didn’t apologise and started operating on it and he did such a bad job that i got cellulitis. Bloody hell. I had to wait in ED for eight hours was pumped with antibiotics I was burping antibiotics and now I have a permanent scar and a distrust of doctors. Do not go to this guy he is clearly past his prime and does not give a single flying *** about his patients.

I’ve been seeing Dr Rankin fir 15 years, up until recently as I understand he’s no longer allowed to treat female patients. I’ve only ever had positive experiences with him. He’s helped me through some very horrific and very traumatic life events and I’m quite distraught that I can no longer see him. Of course this is only my experience and I’m sorry that others have had negative experiences.

Please stop accusing people of being a keyboard warrior when expressing their negative experiences with this doctor!! You yourself as someone continually trying to accuse people of lying and defend a ‘great doctor’ and speak of how wonderful he is, also makes you a supposed ‘keyboard warrior!’ Just because it’s not your experience doesn’t make everyone else a liar!!
It is extremely insulting to constantly have our feelings and experiences doubted by people who have not had the same experience as myself and many other young women who have had their bodies commented on and touched inappropriately by this man!! How dare you shut down our claims just because you have had a good experience with him. It doesn’t mean you know this man and what he has done with patients likely half your age behind closed doors!! There is a very common theme of inappropriate experiences with young women, a lot of the comments have now conveniently been deleted. I’d love for you to read my psychologists notes of what I’ve gone through after what this man did to me, and how terrified I am of seeing anyone male doctor again.
I warn any female to never see this Dr! Which isn’t possible currently thank god. I applaud anyone for coming forward and being honest about their experience with Dr Rankin. He’s clearly been getting away with this for far too long and it’s a shame it’s only all coming to light now. Stop accusing people of lying, just based on your own experience. I’m sure you would have a different opinion if it was your daughter coming home in tears telling these truths these women are now brave enough to come forward and tell. Leave your positive comments fine, but please stop accusing people of being liars and trying to take down an ‘innocent man.’ We have nothing to gain from this other then to stop another women experiencing what we have been through.

I have been a patient of Peter Rankin for 40 years. He is the most caring & knowledgeable doctor I have ever seen. He is the only doctor I trust with my health concerns.
The only complaint I have is his punctuality, but his caring nature means he does not rush his patients out the door when their time is up, they stay until he has done everything he can for them.

Why didn't the Medical Board interview some of his female patients who have only good things to say about him, instead of the keyboard warriors who are out to ruin a great doctor.

I saw Dr Rankin last year after many years in the public system & was blown away with his knowledge & professionalism. I left there feeling that l finally found someone who knew what they were talking about. I would have no hesitation in keeping to see him. He tells it like it is & doesn’t sugar coat it so if you don’t want truth then don’t see him.

I'm a woman in my mid twenties, and I saw him for a skin check just before the pandemic. He was fifty minutes late starting the appointment, and when I got in I could tell why: he just would not stop talking about himself. Despite me explaining this wasn't my first skin check and I knew how it worked, he spent an exorbitant amount of time bragging about how he knew so much about the camera system, going so far as to show me, unprompted, another patients' files and photos.

When he finally got around to doing his job and actually doing the skin check, he took his time and I felt extremely exposed and uncomfortable in the robe for far too long. He kept pausing after almost every photo he took to tell me another inane fact about himself, despite me repeatedly asking him to keep going because I was already running late for the rest of my day. At one point, with multiple moles still not photographed, he just sat down in his chair with his hands behind his head and started bragging about how he was on The Great Australian Bake Off, but he got eliminated after one episode, but that was only because the judges were sleeping with another contestant. Insanely inappropriate.

Eventually, he finally finished taking all of the photos and I was able to get dressed again. He dismissed any concerns I had about ones that had sprung up recently and just said that he didn't need to look at them for another three years.

I vividly remember standing at the door to leave, with my hand on the doorknob, and he just kept asking me questions about my fiance and my personal life. My one word answers and obvious body language cues didn't deter him from continuing to talk at length about himself, and he only stopped talking when my fiance rang to ask where the hell I was, as I was an hour and a half behind schedule at this point, and I answered the phone while he was mid-sentence.

I complained to the receptionist as soon as I escaped, and she sighed and said, "I know, I'm so sorry."

It was the most uncomfortable doctors appointment I've ever had in my life, and the accusations he's facing now are absolutely believable based on the manner in which he conducted his appointment with me.
