I ignored the reviews and attempted to give him the benefit of the doubt but I should have yielded to these reviews. I would not recommend Dentist Abarca. We were only his patients for a short time until we realized he is not the Dentist for my family. He comes over very inexperienced and passive. He made a plan to fill my son's cavities and then after filling one suggested that someone else do the job. Wow! Save yourself time and money and do not use Dr. Marvin Abarca!

I would not recommend Dentist Abarca. He was extremely rude to the staff, even to the point of yelling at the assistant in front of me and my children. He did not spend more than 10 minutes with the patient and proceeded to talk about random things completely inappropriate for the young-aged. He kept interrupting when I was trying to talk to him, and it seemed as if he was imposing his views and beliefs over everyone in the room. He acted completely unprofessional and even make me doubt about whether I should return to the office to see the other professionals. I had never seen such an unprofessional doctor in the 15 plus years in Florida. He did not properly explain the procedures and did not even ask the patient if he was doing okay and/or if he needed pain management. It was just as if your next door neighbor was checking your kid's teeth, no difference, no expertise shown. I would not recommend to anyone seeking to start with a pediatric dentist.

I was referred to Dr. Abarca. He examined my child's teeth and told me she needed a filling. The office staff said they would contact me when about whether insurance would cover the cost. I never got a call. I arrived five minutes early for my appointment and checked in. I sat in the waiting room for two hours only to be told that the dentist had misdiagnosed her. She needed an extraction. He offered to "fill the hole" with something. I thought that odd and tried to decline, but he persisted. So I let him do it with the understanding that it might provide temporary relief until her next appointment. Instead, my daughter cried for six straight hours because her mouth hurt so bad. I'm not a dentist, but it seems that the stuff he put in the cavity was pressing against the cavity and causing her pain. We had to call and move up the extraction and give her ibuprofen for the next 24-48 hours. She got the extraction, but he was extremely rude and scolded me for not allowing her to have gas.
