Biography

Dr. Robert J. Abbiati is enthusiastic about the practice of dentistry and provides patients with the highest quality in customized care. He will work hard to earn your trust and furnish you and your family with quality dental care. He is actively investing in the latest technology for the practice. Born in Teaneck, New Jersey, Dr. Abbiati grew up in Franklin Lakes, where he attended Bergen Catholic High School. After high school, he attended Bucknell University and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and East Asian studies. He also holds a Master in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting from Northeastern University. Additionally, Dr. Abbiati has a Post-Baccalaureate in Biology and Chemistry from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fl. Dr. Abbiati received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the prestigious University of Southern California School of Dentistry in Los Angeles, California. He then pursued an advanced General Practice Residency at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine while working at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. He has taken advanced training in short-term orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, implants, and periodontics. He focuses treatment on the latest advances in dentistry. He was a 2012 Academy of General Dentistry Senior Award Winner from University of Southern California. Dr. Abbiati was recently awarded America's Top Dentist 2015 and featured in the Naples Daily News and the Marco Eagle. He actively provides pro bono dental care to veterans and their families, and the underserved in Bronx, NY and in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Abbiati also has conducted missions to Belize and Guatemala, and has worked to improve dental care in the community through various outreach mobile clinics. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and West Coast District Dental Association. He is half Italian (father’s side) and half Danish (mother’s side). Two Ragdoll cats and three West Highland White Terriers complete the petting zoo he calls home. Dr. Abbiati is an avid boater, loves to travel, plays golf poorly, and has a real passion for dentistry. Most of the time, you can find him working at the practice.
