I've been writing and re-writing reviews in an attempt to clearly express how amazing Serena is however I just can't seem to nail it. I went into Serena's office over weight, out of shape, unable to sleep because my life as I knew it was out of my control and I was on a downward spiral, that was a few years ago. Today I'm healthy, happier than I was a year ago, fit and steadily getting my life back on track. I'm fighting again, joined a Brazillian Jiu Jitsu club, started at the bottom and I'm quickly making a name for myself there. I stopped binge drinking, I started functioning again, I like my new job. I finally put my defenses down, let some people in my life and have made a few friends. I did the work, but I had wonderful person supporting me emotionally as I made these changes. Serena prescribes my meds to treat bipolar disorder and adhd as diagnosed by my psychologist. Serena does her job thoroughly but what makes her special isn't what she's supposed to do, it's what she does that she doesn't have to that makes her special. 4/11/21 my world fell apart, the last thread holding everything together broke and with it me. I called my therapist over and over again, texted him, no answer. I texted Serena to see if she could help me get a hold of him, she called instead and talked to me while I was felling lower than I had ever felt in my life. When I really needed help she was there. I had no one in my life, and I think Serena recognized that. When 'it hit the fan' she stepped up and made sure I felt like I wasn't alone. I can never repay her for the moral support she gave me when I needed it most and still gives me now that things are on the up swing, but I'm going to try. Serena is strong, smart, charismatic, kind, caring, thorough and most importantly she's real. If you lived a hard life like me, you won't feel like you're talking to a doctor who lived inside a bubble when you talk to her, you'll feel like you're talking to someone who gets you. Serena is the only person in this profession that has made me feel this way. Serena is truly an amazing person, if you need help you'll find it here.

I've been seeing Serena for a little over 5 years now. I don't have issues, I have volumes. I've lived through several extraordinary situations in my life that were traumatic. Any one of those scenarios would land a man in therapy. What I'm saying is I'm really messed up. I went to several doctors over the course of 10 years in both NJ and then NH before I met Serena. Every single one of them made me feel the same way, like a freak with problems who is abnormal. I didn't think I was going to get any better, I felt like I was wasting my time in these offices and it was up to me to fix me. I felt like none of them understood me and that to get better I'd have to tell them how to treat me which seems backwards to me. I initially expected to tell these people how I feel, what happened and expected them to find the cause of the problem then treat me or diagnose then treat me, but it never happened. I would leave a doctor's practice, go a couple of months or years on my own and then end up back in yet another psychiatrist or psychologist's office. My experience with Serena was different though. Serena has a way of making me feel like she understands me, and for the first time after all these years I'm making progress and beginning to feel better. I have to work for it, she's not holding my hand every day, it's on me but her guidance and understanding have gone a very long way with me. I understand that medicine is a practice, someone needs to watch what she does and learn, she's got something to teach the mental health community for sure. If you're struggling and you've lived a hard life, Serena can help.

Serena is AMAZING. Extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and is always on top of things. (More so than any other provider.)

I have been seeing Serena for some time now. She is very caring and knowledgeable, and very thorough. She takes the time to listen and answer any questions or concerns that you have. She is not afraid to send you to a specialist if she feels it is in your best interest. I highly recommend her.
