Used her for a year... Seemed competent but unmotivated to familiarize herself with my pre-existing conditions, or provide substantive help when needed... She seemed overworked; came across as apathetic; and judged my medical condition based on my appearance and social demeanor (instead of medical records). Unfortunately, this provider exercised poor judgement when it came to the managing pain caused by my lower lumbar pathology. I know it's asking a lot, but boy would it be nice if a provider would actually spend an hour to familiarize themselves with the finer details of a patient's past medical records.

This nurse also gave me a guilt trip every time I needed to discuss more than one issue at a time...

It is my opinion that this provider needs to improve their knowledge, skills, and abilities for dealing with patients who suffer from debilitating pain, and the co-morbid conditions caused by such.

Hannan Carlson ARNP is very young and inexperienced. She failed to order the correct lab work until I, a layperson, pointed it out to her. She had stated she only prescribes narcotics for cancer or acute injuries (such as a broken bone, she said). When I broke my leg she offered nothing but tramadol, a synthetic painkiller that doesn't even work for my everyday chronic pain, let alone the agony of a broken bone. Hannah Carlson is to be avoided at all costs, most docs have more compassion in their pinky finger than she has in her entire body, and she is stupid, seriously overlooking things such as prior history (unless it's an excuse to withhold pain relief) and med interactions. For instance, tramadol can have a deadly reaction to a med I am already on, which she herself prescribed me. If you want to put your health and comfort in the hands of someone who doesn't know what they're doing and couldn't care less about you, go see Nurse Hannah Carlson. If not, go see a real doctor.
