I saw Dr. Fiel in 2017. I was 30, had been surgically (laparoscopy) diagnosed with endometriosis by another OB/GYN (now retired) in 2004 and had 2 surgeries for Ovarian tumours. My periods had completely stopped and it was not due to peri-menopause or menopause as confirmed by blood work from my family doctor. Dr. Fiel did a basic exam and told me to “lose 10lbs and you’ll be fine,” despite the knowledge and SURGICAL records of my past history. I lost way more weight (unintentionally, due to this illness) and things only got worse. Fast forward, I went 3 years straight without a period and in 2020, I became extremely ill, needed multiple hospitalizations and am currently completely disabled at age 35. The devastation I feel is something I cannot put into words. It seems that Doctors in Canada have no accountability or are not required to hold any responsibility when their own negligence, attitude/bias effects the standard of care of they provide to patients, leaving the patient to deal with the detriments to their own health. The physical issues are more than enough to try and cope with, but the mental and emotional trauma I’m left to deal with has had a great impact on me. Illness and disability effect your entire life; work, education, relationships, finances. It hurts me to think that this could have been prevented if she had just listened and done her due-diligence as a medical professional. I want her to know that despite being a doctor and having the privileges of that profession, it does not make her immune to disease. Anyone can become sick at the drop of a hat, and sometimes, your privileges won’t matter. I just hope that if her, a family member, a friend, need medical attention, they will not experience the type of “care” that she gave to me. I hope that any potential patients do their research and use critical thinking skills when making a decision to see this OB/GYN. You can usually tell which reviews are from disgruntled patients and which ones are genuine. If you do see Dr. Fiel, I truly hope that your experience is better than mine.

Terrible doctor. She did a biopsy on me in 2009. Kept telling me to stop moving even though i was in terrible pain. Terrible with patients.

Worst dr ever. She almost killed me due to a miscarriage. Another dr had to fix her mistake. Stay away from her!

She performed a D and C on me, felt like a piece of meat. Actually asked for a referral to another Dr after seeing her to check her work as I felt it was unnecessarily painful. No bedside manner whatsoever and no empathy. Go somewhere else.

Horrible and frightening experience because I was rushed into ER the day after my hysterectomy with this doctor. She blamed me because I was a smoker at the time. So smokers don’t have this surgery? Collapsed lung and 2 transfusions later I survived the surgery ... thanks to the ER doctor.

One day wasn't feeling well, went to walk in with high fever. They sent me to the hospital, which point they thought it was appendicitis so they did a CT scan to find out there was mess near by ovary. Dr Fiel was called to review, she had the hospital perform a number of tests to make sure what the problem was - they first had to get the infection to disappear - she found out my ovary was twisted so bad that she did surgery. It was a successful and nice recovery- when the results came back it was ovarian cancer she did an amazing job in the diagnose and treatment...she saved my life....I can not thank you enough for your dedication, caring spirit and big heart to ensure you are always putting your patients first. Thank you for saving my life

My experience has been amazing, I have had this infection for over7weeks now. I went to family dr. Had a swab, ultrasound, pap and antibodics. My family dr. Referred Dr.Fiel and after second appointment found I had left a tampon inside was that that was a huge oversight on several health practioners. I'm now being treated from Toxic shockhock syndrome. Which I'm lucky cause serval people die every year from this. Thank you Dr. Fiel

Dr. Fiel has been my OB/GYN for years. She is a caring, kind and knowledgeable doctor with a wonderful bedside manner. It's just unfortunate that she doesn't deliver at Georgetown hospital anymore...I wish it was her that will be delivering my first child coming in January! Diana the receptionist is lovely, always very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend Dr. Fiel to any of my friends and/or loved ones. Keep up the great work, Dr, Fiel!

I quite like Dr. Fiel. I have only seen her for gynecology (PAP test, birth control), and love the fact that she's all business. She is straight to the point, no nonsense, and does the job well. I appreciate that in someone who is examining me while I'm pretending to be elsewhere.
