I got a double jaw surgery and a genioplasty. The genioplasty is severely tight, I asked Dr. Esmail if there was any way of fixing it because it made my lip tight but he had no suggestions or knowledge of what can help. Aesthetically, my upper jaw came out forward and it doesn't look good or proportionate to my face. Dr. Esmail never talked to me about some of the risks that can come with the surgery such as tight genioplasty and limited movement of lower lip and chin, he also did not discuss how I will look after the surgery, he just said I will look basically the same but after bringing the upper jaw maxilla forward it has changed my face a lot and my nose flared out. He does not take the time to talk about aesthetics after surgery, risks of surgery, or help much with after care.

Dr. Esmail has a reputation as an amazing surgeon, and my operation was the best experience it could be. He is also incredibly kind, gentle, and patient, and will be with you every step of the way in your recovery. I feel so lucky to have been referred to him.

Don’t bother paying for deep sedation! Sedated for half of procedure but then woke and felt everything. Giggly talkative staff as I cried but no concern for me crying in pain. Staff blamed sedation for me being emotional to my drive. What happened between Jan 23 and May 23???? Seems when reviews drastically declined!

Dr. Esmail was fine, his intake staff was terrible. She inferred TWICE that I might not be able to afford the surgery. Was not told that this first appointment was a consultation, had a driver and took time off work for this. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone with dental anxiety.

Unfortunately, I recently had the opportunity of seeing this Dr. I did not have a good experience with him. He is extremely arrogant and did not take time to go over my concerns. He’s fake “nice” until you don’t agree with his suggestions which are not proper recommendations based on your health but a way to charge you more. I’d highly recommend seeing a kinder and more.

By far the worst medical professional I have ever seen. He is extremely arrogant and callous. I'm very shocked by the good reviews here. He did not take time to listen to my concerns and was very condescending. I recorded our entire conversation and will be reporting him to the college. He can't deny he said certain things which are quite awful. His behavior was completely unprofessional. Went with an oral surgeon in Vancouver instead and am much happier. Shame on him for having zero empathy.

Dr.Esmail and his staff are the best!!
I had my two wisdom teeth and 5 other teeth extracted with IV Deep sedation and felt absolutely no pain. The recovery was a bit painful but that's too be expected. From the girls at reception to all the staff in the back you are made to feel very comfortable.. love their sense of humor and would definitely recommend.

Excellent - just excellent! I went with my son and I was late. He stayed to explain the details of the surgery, staff was incredibly kind and helpful and you can just feel how comfortable and positive the environment in the office is.

All of the good things you read about Dr. Esmail, are most likely true. When I went to my denturist to get a full set of dentures, she remarked on what an excellent job the surgeon had done. She commented how some people come to her and her and gums are an absolute mess. She told me that the surgery that I had was 100% excellently done. You are lucky to get Dr. Esmail and his staff. I want to thank the good doctor the receptionist and everyone connected to his practice. *****
