I had L4 and L5 disc replacement in 2010. I am still no better if anything I feel worse. During my surgery he nicked a vien in my stomach that had to be repaired by a vascular surgeon. Post surgery I think I seen him ounce as they say I slipped through the cracks. I believe he has the god factor please go to Sydney if you need surgery on your spine

I have now had neurosurgery performed by Dr Jerry Day twice for different issues. My highest praise and reflection of my confidence in him is that if required, I would let him, indeed, ask him to operate on my precious child if neurosurgery was required. This gentleman is my concept of the clinician's clinician. He is a great surgeon who attracts praise and respect from his colleagues; he is science-based, clear in his explanations, compassionate, patient, good humoured, and personable. I believe that if only bedside manner was what a rating was based upon he would score the classic '10' (out of 10).
Dr Day is considerate of each individual so it is a blessing to know he individualizes your appointment session. I was pleased to find that, just as sometimes he provided longer time to others, when I needed extra help he gave it to me - he made me his central focus - Dr Day has a skill and capacity for making you feel like you are the only concern he has when he is with you; a wonderful added dimension and contrast to today's often 'fast-drive-through', impersonal style of medicine. Dr Day epitomises the expression, 'quality care'.
Despite it being a busy practice with many demands on people working with Dr Day, the clinic staff too are thoughtful and recognise that attending a neurosurgeon can have people on edge. Dr Day's Clinic Sister, Jane, especially is a consistent reflection of the care and respect Dr Day strives for in his busy practice. She masters control and direction to help you not just know, but feel you are in safe and organized hands. She thinks of your needs broadly - 'now', whilst things might remain in the unknown, 'then', when you might have to have surgery and 'after', considering your breadth of needs because you may not have thought that far yet. Jane is certainly a great clinical and emotional support, echoing the consistent care and respect that Dr Day and his practice provide.
I hope that my accolades for Dr Day reflect more than just a star rating or a quick comment. My vies are are reality-based as a patient, waiting room observer and health professional. I have the utmost confidence in his surgical skills, the highest praise for his personal care and the greatest appreciation for the respect that he shows his patients. I regret that you or someone you care deeply for has a need to see a neurosurgeon. However, from my experience of other neurosurgical specialists and as a 'repeat patient', I put to you that Dr Day is a highly ethical, compassionate, high calibre clinician and surgeon whom I recommend to you with the utmost sincerity.

My mum was in terrible pain. She had a triage appointment at Dr Day's rooms, saw him about a week later, and had surgery the following week.
During the consultation, when he asked my mother a question about her condition , he listened intently to her answers.
He was so kind and caring.
She also had an appointment with Jane, his practice nurse, who was also wonderful.
Our experience has shown that you don't need to travel to Sydney to get quality medical care.
A huge thank you Dr Day.

Had a chordoma removed from c2 to c5 Vertebrae and some was left in and had nothing but trouble from him and half the staff on the neurological ward at Wollongong Hospital. Found Dr Day rude ,arrogant ,conceited and just all-round nasty with visions of higher Grainger . But I will say the staff that work with him like Dr green Were wonderful, nice ,kind ,caring and willing to help wherever they could. I’m trying to get an appointment after surgery was ridiculous considering this all happened at the end of July and I didn’t get an appointment to see him again till September. The staff on the ward C2 West half of them were nice but the other half treated me extremely nasty and I did not feel safe on the ward.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to Dr Day and his wonderful team, today I am two weeks post op and I feel fantastic and pain free. I was in pain for over 2 years and was so afraid of surgery, I had never even had a general anaesthetic before, dr day was so patient with me, he made me feel so confident to be in his care. Many friends and family told me to go to doctors in Sydney, but I am so glad I didn’t,, we have the best here in wiollongong. I will be forever grateful to him and his amazing gift as a surgeon. Thank you
