Left feeling so disappointed and a waste of $400 after waiting so long to get in. I have multiple scans showing significant back damage and I can barely walk due to pain. He said i don't think you are in pain from your back and said there is nothing I can do so go see a pain specialist. I have 4 nerve impingements and disc prolapse and you don't think it's my back causing pain?! I highly recommend going to a big city to see a decent neurosurgeon and don't waste time and money with this doctor.

For a year and a half I battled with a L5/S1 disc issues causing constant pain 24/7. During this time I tried every non evasive therapy known. I was referred to many physicians, doctors and surgeons and spent so much money. People told me great surgeons may not have the best bedside manner. Those people were wrong. Dr Timothy Siu and his assistant Dani from first consultation have been amazing. They made me feel comfortable explained everything to me and most importantly showed me compassion. One week post micro discectomy surgery my life has completely changed.
Dr Siu came to see me immediately after the surgery bed side and the following day in hospital to check in.

I cannot recommend and thank Dr Siu and his team at Macquarie Neurosurgery enough. From the bottom of my heart you saved my life. I am forever gratefuL

Dr Siu operated on me for lumber interbody fusion in October 2023, was in a lot of pain & unable to play any sports prior, it’s now March 2024, I’m now playing Tennis, golf, bike riding & doing everything prior to my condition, I do and would recommend Dr Siu for any sort of spinal surgery, he has given me a new lease on life, I am 76yrs old and through my experience would have complete faith in Dr Siu abilities.

I was seen by Dr Timothy Siu today.What a lovely young gentleman. He was very understanding of my lengthy spinal history, and recent flare up which led me to hospital. I found him to be attentive, courteous and professional. He took notes of recent events, history and the medication I am taking. He did a neurological examination and he explained my MRI results thoroughly- showing me clearly the images on the screen and what they meant. Dr Siu provided me with the information I needed to go forward, and what the outcome will be for me in the future. I am grateful for his consultation. Might I also add that Dr Siu’s secretary in Chatswood -Katherine-was absolutely wonderful. Katherine provided me with lots of help, she was kind and patient, and all done with a smile. What an additional bonus to this lovely team.

Waste of time very vague poor communication seems very disinterested . Never asked what I was taking for my pain or if I needed a script . MRI and bone test and a follow up . Consult 12 minutes left feeling down .
I’ve decided to see another specialist .

Disappointed. Was in there for 5 minutes. Minimal questioning about where my pain was. Hardly looked at the MRI. Would not comprehend that I had another injury after this initial MRI amd now I had to have another which shows worsening of initial injury. Why do people not listen and acknowledge what is going on. Was over an hour late, amd I was first appointment. Did not even discuss recommendations going forward. His whole profile is around non surgical approached. I was provided none. It was like he was trying to make up time. Very disappointed, I have never complained about any physician I have seen until now. And my GP had to call the surgery 3 times to get a letter. Now I have made an appointment elsewhere. Would recommend people wait to see Studley of go to Sydney.

Dr Sui was extremely informative, not taking any credit for himself and very down to earth.
I didn't have to think twice about whether to have surgery or not. all my visits with him have been comfortable and post surgery am so pleased with my decision making. I had major surgery and am now walking without a walking stick. I feel very lucky to have met this amazing surgeon.

Saw this doctor, was over an hour late on my appointment with no apologies, Took phone calls whilst seeing me again with no apologies or acknowledgement. Did not seem really interested in answering any questions I had and just wanted to get me in and out ASAP.
