OK..going back 20 or more years I was a very youn woman who had pain that never seemed to end. Each Monday found me in some doctor's office...week after week, month after month. Finally found an orthopedist who was disturbed by X-Rays in my neck. Sent me right to over Dr. H. Of course this was interesting. I was very young, he was very young, but I could tell that he was caring about my symptoms and acknowledging that I had them. A neurosurgeon performed brain surgery and nothing improved..as He has been with me time after me and, one time in particular, probably saved my life. Other doctors may have a different opinion of me; I may have a different opinion of them. Come to think of it, I KNOW that's true. One was my doctor for a good 20 years. Fine, fine relationship and then he changed overnight and became the doctor from hell. Some patients were OK with things, but others left. I still smart about that. This man deserves a 5!!

I experienced an initial "honeymoon period" with Dr. Harney and as long as you don't ever get sicker than you were when you first walked in the door or come in a minute (yes, a minute) late for your appointment, it is possible for nuero patients to have stellar service from this doctor. However, pain patients are basically seeing little more than a drug dealer with an prescription pad. I have a rare disease and have seen 150-200 doctors in the last 20 years. Although, he is one of the brightest, he is one of the most cruel, stopping high dose pain meds cold turkey, because I was ten minutes late for an appointment (I called ahead). When my husband became upset and my mother began crying, the staff's solution was to call the police. I was left without meds until I could get in to see another physician who was compassionate enough to intervene. Harney also put so much Botox into my forehead that I couldn't completely close my left eye for six months... all in the name of medical science.

Dr. is very knowledgable of all issues of MS... even to the point of anticipation... I feel better today than I've felt in years.

Just when we thought the staff had improved, the one person who is so condescending is back-K. I don't know why the good doctor allows staff that are demeaning and cruel. I am beginning to think he doesn't care because we patients are forced to interface with this person. I have been in the waiting room when several patients have agreed that we are not treated with respect from K. I do not understand why this person is back.

Dr. Harney is great! Very good about explaining things, very concerned with pain management. His staff used to be very bad, but I have noticed quite an improvement in the last 6 months or so.

I drove quite a distance to pick up a triplicate prescription (that I pay for) and they would not let me in the door even though I was only 1 minute late from the closing time. The way the staff handle prescriptions for peeople in pain is just terrible. They should put themselves in our shoes but I never believe they will understand. Theere are new people that are not experienced with caring for patients in pain. Dr. Harney OK's the prescriptions so I don't know what the problem is. He understands our pain but the staff can't possibly understand as few are over 30 and don't have fibromalgia. Wish the doc would get staff that were real nurses. And, getting a call back takes at least 2 days. It's frustrating.

Dr. Harney has addressed the staff issues. I have never had to wait to see him and his staff always calls to remind me of my appt. I have never had my Dr. spend as much time with me as Dr. Harney does. He expains everything in plain English. I absolutely trust him and his staff.

Very pleased with Dr. Harney and the changes he is making in the office, particularly with the staff. The new office manager is a nurse and obviously cares for people. The front desk personnel are now friendly and helpful. Dr. Harney and his new staff are kind and knowledgeable. Very Happy Patient/Dr. Harney rocks!!!

Referred to Dr. Harney for FM. Waited 2 months to get in. His staff is the worst I've experienced. Katherine does NOT return any phone calls regardless of request. Dr. is friendly, quirky, talks quickly, humble but not always easy to follow. Biggest issue - access to this Dr. - took 2 months to get MRI results with possible MS diagnosis.

Dr. Harney is good but also full of himself. He tends to blow off concerns that I mention and is quick to write prescriptions. His demeanor is okay but his office staff is rude and they act like you are bothering them to have to check out or call for information. I absolutely hate going to his office because his staff is cold and uncaring and am currently looking for a new doctor. Does his staff not realize that WE pay their salary?!??!?!?
