I also agree that the DR Shaw is a very friendly and understanding DR. I would recommend him to other patients. As for the front office they need a lot and I mean a lot of work. Almost every time I have had to speak to a nurse in the office I have been placed on hold for a prolonged peiod of time. Never once did they applogize for the long wait or a simple explination as to why you are on hold so long.

I love the physicians in this office. They are always willing to sit down and talk to you and are always willing to go above and beyond. I did consider changing doctors, tho, because the office staff is always rude and talks down to you. They don't care that you are there because you have a medical problem and it may be personal to you. I would proceed with caution! You always have to get thru the front office staff to get to the drs!

Dr. Shaw has been my physician for a while. He is a fine doctor, kind, gentle and treats his patients with respect. Medically, very knowledgeable and consistent. His Nurse Practioner, Kelly is great too! I go to her when Dr. Shaw is unavailable. Dr. Shaw's reception staff, however, needs work! His reception staff area consists of mostly young girls that lack people or personal skills and project an idea that "what's for lunch" and inappropriate chit-chat are far more important than handling the needs of patients at the front desk. I'd like to see front office new-hires be more mature and more tuned into patient and people skills rather than the bi-lingual hiring requirement - the language situation can be worked around, handling patients needs and people skills, however, cannot! If you're searching for a very good family physician, Dr. Shaw is my recommendation, but, be prepared for front office/reception area staff problems and abrupt treatment almost bordering on being rude!
