Dr. Britto has been treating my wife for over a year and she is the best psychiatrist she has had. While she is to the point she has also go out of her way to work wife my wife. Dr. Britto has done more than others that my wife was treated by for years.

A kind woman who I believe means well. Openly admits that her practice is geared towards medicating symptoms to manage them, a good complimentary source of mental health information.

I have been seeing Dr.Britto for about 4 years. I find her kind and warm. She listens to me and understands how I feel. Tries to get me to look at the whole picture and the future, not just the small and right now. She gave me pills to get through the tuff part, but now she has taken me off and we just spend our time talking and see what else I can improve in my life . To me Dr. B is there to guide me, not fix me , only I can do that and with her help I have come along way. I look forward to my visits and always feel better when I leave. Thank you Dr. Britto for always being there for me.. I will never forget your kindness in a bad time in my life.

Dr. Britto was cold, detached and uncaring. She jumped to conclusions and had no interest in doing anything other that throwing medication at me. She was abrupt, unprofessional and judgemental. She wrote absolutely damaging and now proven to be UNTRUE diagnosis on my file. She made getting a Dr. to see me as a person impossible due to her misdiagnosis and poor judgment. She rolled her eyes at me if I asked questions and became agitated when I asked about the medications she wanted to prescribe. She told me I "was not willing to help myself " when I expressed my concerns about the medications. She would often change the subject or cut me off mid sentence and say " that is not important". I told my family Dr. in Salmon arm about the medications she prescribed and he was absolutely shocked. He has known me for over 15 years. He knows my personality and my medical history. He told me that the amount of medication as well as the dosage was absolutely too strong. He asked me not to take them and said it would only complicate the issues I was trying so hard to overcome. He was right. I stopped taking the medication as he asked and I continued to help myself with counselling and self care. I saw another Physiatrist who was also shocked at her poor practice as well as her poor diagnosis ability. She damaged my ability to get respectful, caring health care for years because of the things she wrote in my file. I am happy to say now I no longer have any of the issues I did 5 years ago and I have had her diagnosis discredited and proven to be untrue. Dr. Britto is not a person who should be in the position she is. She does not care about people, she has no compassion and she is obviously obsessed with pharmaceuticals. She doesn't fix the problems people ask her to help with. She gets them so high and medicated they can't deal or even remember what their problems were in the first place. She is not capable or willing to help people through proven methods of counselling. The staff at the clinic are as explained in the other review completely unprofessional as well. Do not go to see Dr. Britto! You will regret it possibly for the rest of your life! I should also mention that Dr. Britto loves to talk about herself. In her view she is the most amazing women in the world! Horrible experience!

Seems nice enough. Note she does not do 'therapy' only prescribes medications and not always. She has a lot of patients and not enough time sometimes. Not impressed with the staff at the health unit. Seem preoccupied with chatting among themselves. Almost every time I have stood at desk unacknowledged for several minutes and then get called to another desk for someone else to help me book an appt because the MH receptionist is too busy talking about her personal life with her back turned to the counter. Staff seem nervous on the phone. Perhaps they are patients getting work experience. I think Dr. B would do better in another setting. Long walk down to the office with several other clinics going on. Staff do call the day before appointments. Not helpful. It would be nice if Dr. told patient how much time is left before wrapping up abruptly. Awkward going out if emotional. Little emotional support avail and I have little benefit besides Rx. Nice to have psychiatrist in SA though.
