My husband's herniated disk condition (with horrid pain down his leg) and calcification was so bad he needed pretty immediate surgery. Dr. Hopkins did this surgery pretty quickly as well. Within 2 weeks. He was very helpful and always answered any questions or concerns we had and showed compassion and genuine concern for him as well as for me. Even now if my husband sees him around he asks he him he is doing and even asks about me. My husband has gone to see him one other time about an upper spine issue and he saw us on a Saturday. He said he was on call so he might as well see patients too. I find him to be very dedicated to his profession and to his patients. Very much so. My husband's health has been very good after his very extensive surgery. He healed up very well and is pretty much his old self again. He has 4 cages, and 6 titanium screws. L4-L5, L5-S1. Plus had to have a huge calcification removed. Over four hours of surgery. If he's a bit late, it's because he's with patients.

Very busy office, but thats a good sign i think. I saw him 4 times before my surgery. He made sure I brought my wife to look at the mri and explain it to her. The surgery was great- very little pain, and my arm pain was completely gone. I highly recommend this doctor and his PA. The Shannon hospital was good too.

Very nice, helpful I had to wait a few minutes, but he took extra time with me, too. He found my problem on the mri, and showed it to me so i could undestand it. He was able to help me with some injections, and was not knife-happy. I am very happy with this Dr. He was friendly and explained things well in laymans terms.

I was referred by my friends who had seen Dr Hopkins for back pain and leg pain. He was running a bit late, but I coud tell he was with someone who had hearing trouble. He came in, and apologized for running late. He offered my water or a coffee. He went over my problem, and unlike any other doctor I have seen, showed me my xrays and went over them very detailed. He recommended some therapy and shots, but I wound up needing surgery. The surgery went well, and everything was as it was explained to me. I am much, much, better, and thanks to Doc for it. I recommend him!

This doctor and his assistant, Velma, are test happy and cost me over $3000.00 out of my own pocket. Dr. Hopkins couldn't figure out my MRI scan and starting guessing as to what was wrong.I finally gave up on these clowns and went to another provider who was able to help me somewhat. I also had to wait for a long time in the exam room before Velma came in. One of the receptionists made an appointment for me, I arrived for the appointment in a lot of pain and they had lost my appointment on the computer. I had to come back another day since there were no open appointments available for that day. This place is a joke! They caused me a lot of stress and anxiety.

Through an MRI was diagnosed with a herniated disc at the L5-S1 level and subequently scheduled for an ESI, first one didnt't take received second one two weeks later no relief either, 3rd one cancelled and mylogram scheduled. Follow-up with this Doctor resulted in him telling me that it would get better on its own and that I needed to lose weight to make this happen. I understand that I'm overweight but not all overweight people have back problems. I spent a lot of money on what many believe was a waste of time procedure wise. The pain still remains and that has been after 3 months of chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy, accupuncture, pain meds/muscle relaxers and numerous machines. I feel that this doctor "passed the buck" on me and am now in more pain than when I started.
