I have seen Dr Petryk for a few years. When we first met I told him about Ms and who I am and what I wanted he did say one of my statements in the beginning were that if some signs of gender dyslhoria but not 100 absolute diagnoses as time went by he said my views and thoughts never changed and that is why he gave me the go ahead for surgery because I stayed true and knew what I wanted. At the first appointment g ent I told him there was discrepancies about other diagnosed and started rattling them off but he knew I had other doctors for that and was not going to interfere, he said let’s put that discussion aside and you and I will discuss this only and you can discuss the other issues with others . Weight lifted from me as clear boundaries and established care was set and we worked on that. I am still trying to coordinate the surgery with the plastic surgeon assigned to me but hope someday I can get this done. I need a person to stay with me and that is a hurdle I am having the most issue with. But Dr. Petryk is a great doctor to see. And he also says my file will never be closed no matter how long it takes. :).

I had a video call with him as a prelude to getting on testosterone/having top surgery. I answered all his questions and told him about my history of gender dysphoria. My experiences have been extremely similar to my other trans friends but he said something along the lines of “I’m not going to be the one to gate keep”? in reference to the resources I was seeking. Felt very confusing and insulting

Dr Petryk is a godsend! he's been there in the start of my transition, and he listens to what i have to say. He has been an advocate for my transition and protected my rights as a transman. He came to my aid when my bank wouldn't allowed me to change my name and gender which i had documents for. He was not happy, he told me that it wasn't right and he even wrote a letter stating that. He told me that what the bank did was illegal. He's always been by my side. I have complete trust in him.... and which is rare that i trust doctors. lol. I consider him as part of the family, like a big brother. he see's me as a human being with feelings and thoughts not has a number. He help me with through my PTSD. I am so greatful for this advanced knowledge and sense of wisdom.

Dr. Petryk is a godsend! Been seeing him for gender dysphoria for about a year now and he has been a great support, even addressing my mental health issues not related to being transgender. I really appreciate how educated he is, he seems to pick up on things very well. He's also very skilled at tailoring his method of care to suit the person he's treating. I actually look forward to my appointments with him and feel very lucky to have such a great person as my advocate for my transition.

Was referred to Dr Petryk as part of my transition process. Wait list is very long for new patients (about 19 mos. for me before I was scheduled for an appointment), but given that he's taken over for Dr Warneke now that the latter is retired, it's to be expected. At the beginning of the year I was scheduled for a mid-year appointment, but got a call back notification of a cancellation and so got in within about a week of receiving my initial call! Dr Petryk is a very patient, and very practical. Anyone who might comment that he comes off as 'uncaring' or 'cold' are being overly dramatic. Personally, I found him to be very friendly and informative, and his doctor-to-patient manner is appropriate of his field. He helped me connect with an endocrinologist who was able to get me in quickly to start on HRT, he's helped me get in touch with a OB/GYN who will hopefully be doing my hysto, and I am forever thankful to him for changing my life.

Dr. Petryk is an amazing Doctor as well as person. I've been a patient of his for about 5 years now, and can honestly say he has been the best Dr I've ever had.

I've been trying for years to get the kind of help Dr Petryk has finally been understanding enough and knowledgeable enough to provide. My quality of life has gone up and I attribute a good portion of this to him and his expertise.

I see Dr. Petryk for maintenance of my condition. He is helpful, and has a great bedside manner. He takes my self-evaluation seriously, is thoughtful and up to date in his field. In all, he is professional, approachable and one of the best psychiatrists I have been treated by.

This doctor is young and new, but very up to date on everything. Super kind and not hard on the eyes either.... Knows his stuff. Highly recommend.
