My awful medical plan offers virtually no mental health coverage, but I've continued to see Dr. Griswold, whom I've gone to for about 8 years (starting with when I had good coverage). He is respectful and actually listens to what I say; does not foist his own agenda. Realizes that meds aren't a panacea, or even a good idea, for everyone. Takes an interest in my well-being; hasn't allowed the debased field of psychiatry to destroy his capacity to give a damn. A rarity, in the good sense of the word.
