I've seen Dr. Shettar for many years now, as well as other doctors and defiantly prefer him over anyone! I feel very safe with him. Knowing he knows what he is doing.

I'm surprised by all the negative comments. He is by far the best gynaecologist in the Yarmouth area. (Dr. Houck is one doctor I would NEVER recommend.) He was compassionate and understanding with my situation and went above and beyond to get testing done that I needed. Highly recommend

I am very displeased to hear that this doctor is still practicing in the Yarmouth Hospital. I had a terrible experience with him a few years back and filed a complaint. I have also heard two other horrible stories pertaining to this same doctor. One was from a woman that was told to stop crying while suffering a miscarrind she was sent home with a.large bucket of chemical to put what she passed in. Another lady I know wa afflicted with cancer and he performed an incorrect surguwhich her having an additional surgury. when I lodged kn

Dr.Shettar gave the most awkward uncomfortable unpleasant exam i have ever had. Cold & abrupt. He went so fast i had no time to relax. I commented that i need time to relax, it was VERY painful, especially the pelvic exam, after the exam he actually pushed my knees closed & pulled me up to a sitting position b4 i was ready. I could barley hold it together hugging my knees thinking what the heck just happened? I felt vulnerable and upset. The secretary tried to make small talk about the weather, she saw i was having a hard time holding it together. He only said "ok, get dressed i will talk to you in my office" when he left the room i cried hard. B4 the exam when i was speaking to him he would cut me off, he seamed as if he didn't want to listen to me. He did answer a few questions after & seamed a bit more responsive once he saw I was upset ( for what ever reason i tried to hide it) I do not recommend this doctor. My family doctor has removed him from his list of recommendations.

I seen Dr. Shettar for fertility issues. He was very quick to prescribe medications without doing the necessary test before hand to make sure I did need the medications and while taking the medication, he again did not do the necessary test to see if the medication was working. After my last visit when he started telling me that women in his country go to the temple to help them get pregnant, I decided it was time to see another doctor.

I felt vulnerable in his care and, as a woman, felt dismissed. There's nothing specific I can put my finger on, but I left the office feeling disappointed without having had the opportunity to voice any of my own concerns or questions. It all happened so fast. Suddenly I realize I was leaving the office with a prescription I didn't want and questions that weren't answered.

First, he didn't have a small speculum ( I am a tiny person). He then tried to do a pap with a long narrow tool. Said he couldn't see the cervix but took a smear.Gave me advice that had nothing to do with my presenting problem, then wrote and told lies to my doctor, that he used a small speculum and saw the cervix. The whole experience was very upsetting.
