Worst doctor ever. He is not helpful at all, and I wonder why he is still practicing. His decisions are mostly based on his guess of the patient's purpose rather than on his medical assessment. For example, about five years ago, I had a sleeping problem and asked him to prescribe me some sleeping pills. He refused, saying that some patients had sold the sleeping pills illegally to make money. What a horrible reason to refuse.
When my blood tests showed that one reading was out of the normal range by about 10%, I asked him to adjust the medication. Instead of addressing my question, he began discussing something completely irrelevant and never returned to the topic.
Dr. Steven Cohen, please, a retirement will be the best option for you and your patients.

Horrible! Rude, Rough, . Secretary the same . A real shame this man is still practicing! Like attracts like. That is why the entire office runs as it does. Very disrespectful on all levels!

I cringe each and every time I have to see him. He is never helpful. If I want to ask about second concern I have that happened to me and I'm asking because it occurred at the same time of the ailment I am consulting with him for, he tells me to book an appointment another time. Excuse me? He doesn't offer any kind of over-the-counter remedy, he doesn't investigate, he is rude, and in my opinion, just does not give a damn about the patient. It's my job to give him my symptoms. It's his job to listen, look for signs and make a diagnosis and recommendations to heal. I want to know how/why he is permitted to practice? All these comments are consistently negative and similar. I can go on about other visits but I'm just completely deflated. I leave the office each time feeling unheard and still looking for answers/help. Someone suggested to contact the College des medecins and I think it's high time.

Telephone consult. For UTI simple check of symptoms which I knew was a UTI already. I just needed the antibiotics. After our consult he failed to fax it to my pharmacy or myelf. Then they never answered the phone . I was in agony until the next morning when they finallys sent a fax, but to the wrong pharmacy. I had to run around after not sleeping all night! Negligence and unprofessional.

Super nice doctor I don’t know what’s up with all these reviews he’s solved most if not all my issues been with him for 6-7 years. Yes when you do enter the office it’s quite an eccentric taste of paintings, interesting choice of music, and the bathroom sign is a bit odd. I think we need to redo the paintings and put a bit of better music too much classical taste. And also the secretary is super nice she just needs to dress a bit more professional. Doctor Cohen is 100% himself and he rocks. Coolest doctor I know on the block.

Dr. Cohen refused to examine me to do a physical examinaiton explaining that he was a married man and he did not feel comfortable viewing another woman in partial or complete state of undress. He suggested I go home have my husband take a picture of me in the nude and then come back. Before he state this he did ask about my family situation, ie married, the type of jobs me and my husband had. When I mentioned that my husband was a Executive Recuriter, he immediately started to ask questions inquiring if my husband could find his daughter a job...he went on for quite a few minutes....when I ask about a skin irritation that I had on my lower back, again he asked me to bring in a picture of it, but then preceded to take his ipad and go to google to search for some type of remedy to help the verbal description of the irritated area that I gave him. When my 15 minutes were up, I was told to make another appointment when I had the pictures. Stunned, I left and the next patient was usured in. As I gather my coat and boots, that patient was thrown out, because he was a smoker, and Dr. was very loud and aggressive with him...as he escorted him to the waiting room and said in front of the people waiting there " I do not condone smoking" Then he went back into his office. I left with no intention of going back to him. This was over 10 years ago...and I was subsequently transferred to Ontario, but returned in 2020. I have not been able to find a family doctor since. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.

Rude, despicable, incompetent. Went once never went back. He left practicing in the U.S. to come back to Canada WHY? . Should go back to the U.S. Shameful . How do you look at yourself in the mirror. Oh yes and you are a real bad diagnostician. Sad that people are desperate enough to go to this excuse for a doctor.

Worst doctor I’ve ever had. If you have a problem he will try to talk you out of it. If you need a specialist he will refuse to give you one. If you struggle with a condition since birth he will refer you to a book to read. Every time I have seen him I left feeling demotivated and like it was a waste of time. Waiting at stat care for 3 hours is honestly better. On top of that, if you call the office telling them you have extremely high fevers and gastro or an infection that needs antibiotics, his secretary will tell you it’s probably just a virus and it’ll go away. A secretary should not be giving you medical advice. I spoke with doctors on 811 and told them the advice the secretary gives and they were in disbelief. He is more than a psychologist than a doctor who thinks he’s smarter than everyone and should be forced into retirement.

I've been his patient for 10 years and now that I am over 60, I wish to monitor my health more closely. But Dr. Cohen says I don't need any lab tests (except for FIT every 2yrs) and always refused to refer me to any specialist. During our last conversation he told me he was not practicing the kind of medicine I was hoping for, and that I should look for another GP - truly the best advice he gave me in 10 years.

I have been going to this doctor off and on for a few years. He only allows one issue per visit if you have a few issues be prepared to be going in and out of his office often. He's pretty pathetic to be honest. I had a medical issue and chose to wait in line at the Statcare, rather than go to him.
