Dr. Hallowell is a hands down expert on ADHD. I read Driven to Distraction when I was in my 20s but wasn't diagnosed with ADHD until my early 50s. I learned that women and girls are more likely to be underdiagnosed with ADHS. Once diagnosed I read Delivered from Distraction. It was so eye opening to me. While I was prescribed ADHD medication (which has been lifechanging in terms of my ability to concentrate and focus), I also learned that there are many tools - described in Dr. Hallowell's book and explained to me by him - to manage ADHD. I love Dr. Hallowell's perspective - ADHD is a superpower if you know how to leverage it. I do that through medication, a healthy diet, daily meditation, exercise, self awareness, getting a good night's sleep and routines around the demand of daily schedule. I have never felt so hopeful and energized in my life. Dr. Hallowell is also a gifted therapist - he is not only a good listener but also skilled at working with me to determine an action plan. I appreciate his solution oriented approach. I would highly recommend Dr. Hallowell for anyone who thinks they have ADHD or has been diagnosed with ADHD.

Hallowell is a charlatan. He sees everyone as having ADHD regardless of the truth. Check out his Wikipedia page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Hallowell_(psychiatrist)
