I have been with Dr. Yu for several years. He has always been responsive. He calls me back when I have questions. and arranges for additional follow up if needed. Highly recommended!

Dr Yu is fantastic. I feel so incredibly blessed to have been referred to him. And despite how busy he is, he always takes the time to communicate with you personally and to carefully explain the results.

My experience with this doctor was very poor. I felt rushed, waited for 3 months for this appointment and was out in 5 mins! He asked some questions but kept interrupting me when I try to answer (why bother asking questions when you wouldn't even listen?!). He came up with a quick diagnosis without explaining properly so I don't trust him. Stay away from this doctor!

I actually don't understand how come such an unfriendly, impatient and irresponsible person can be hired as a receptionist. I'm not sure how many receptionists they have, but based on the score for "staff" here, I guess I unfortunately encountered the one with low rating (an Asian lady). Every single call she made me feel that I did something wrong ... Dr Derek is good.

Receptionist is very very rude and aggressive! Every single time i have to make an appointment it is very stressful. The impression is that she hates people and hate her job. Doctor is ok, but the problem is to get to the doctor you need to go through that receptionist....

I had the misfortune of meeting Dr Yu and his staff. The receptionist was cold and most unwelcoming. No smile, just the words "Health card". The doctor was cold and distant and was less than interested in hearing my side of the story, which I would assume is relatively important. He spoke very poorly of my previous doctor (who has retired) and left me terrified that I was one step away from colon cancer. If there is a course for care and compassion I suggest the doctor and his staff take it.

Dr, Derek Yu and Dr. Erin Muir share an office and receptionist/sevretary. Both doctors are very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. However, the receptionist/secretary is very rude and it is difficult to understand her. She is very abrupt and does a great dis-service to patients.

Dr. Derek Yu takes an interest in my father's liver health. He is comprehensive in his medical assessments and diagnostic tests and follow-up care. We need more specialists like Dr. Derek Yu in all medical service areas.
