I was sent by my family doctor to see Dr Yu on an emergency basis. He had me in for a colonoscopy within a week. I find Dr Yu to be a compassionate and caring doctor. He makes you feel at ease when you see him. I would recommend him to anyone that wants a doctor that cares. He will show you that you are not just a number but a person that matters.

I came to know Dr. Yu when my wife got sick with a Chron’s disease flair. He was very knowledgeable, respectful, helpful. He was uptodate with today’s treatments for Chron’s disease. If you are looking for a great gastroenterologist, and a real class doctor try dr. Yu. He saved my wife's life. I will always be grateful to him. Thank you

Dr . Yu is the most amazing diagnostician. After seeing 3 gastroenterologists and a naturopath, he looked at my records and immediately saw that my problem of 7 years was not a stomach problem at all, but a vascular condition. He referred me to the proper department and I was relieved of my painful condition 2 days later. He is one fantastic doctor. He listens, he thinks and he solves. I can't imagine anyone not being pleased with this caring and sympathetic physician

Buckle up cause this is a long one. Dr. Yu was a terrible Doctor. The first appointment I had with him was over the phone, and he called me 30 minutes late. This appointment was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. He interrupted me throughout the entire thing, didn't listen to any of the things I was trying to explain, and acted as though he couldn't give me the time of day (we apparently he couldn't cause the appointment lasted not even ten minutes.) He was condescending and made me feel horrible. Seriously, every time I started to explain a symptom, he would interrupt me and move onto something else. He started explaining the complication of the procedure he would do, before he even told me that I would be doing these procedures in the first place!! I had to explicitly ask him if he was referring to an endoscopy before he confirmed that I would have to do one. When it came around to doing my procedure, I walked into the room and he was sitting in the corner. One of the nurses asked if we had met before and he brushed me off and said we had met, even though all we had was a 5 minute talk over the phone. Just for context, I am 21 years old and have never had to do anything like this, and was alone at the hospital because of Covid. I was terrified. He couldn't even take a second to properly introduce himself. After the procedure was done, within 10 minutes of waking up from anesthesia, I was shuffled into the hallway where Dr. Yu came over and rattled off a bunch of information at me and medications to take for IBS. I was still half asleep and could barely process a thing he said, but he did mention that he didn't find any abnormal pathology. Fast forward a couple weeks, and I feel like it is all behind me, when suddenly I get a notification that new files have been added to my chart. When I checked them, it was a pathology report indicating some abnormalities. I didn't even know he had sent samples to be analyzed, so these results came as a major shock! Never once did he tell me that he took samples, that he was having them tested, and that I should be waiting for results. Not only that, but there was no follow up call or anything regarding those tests that were done, or any explanation as to what the pathology report meant. Fast forward another month and I've finally contacted his receptionist, who tells me that the earliest he can see me is December. I then talked to my GP, who informed me that none of the files from my endoscopy had been added to my record, and told me that I should have had a follow up with Dr. Yu (which simply just never occurred.) Overall, my point is that Dr. Yu caused me a lot of grief these last couple months, and you should absolutely avoid going to him at all costs! Truly awful!

Dr Yu is one of the best doctors I have dealt with. His kind nature gave me the reassurance that everything will be OK. He took time to explain to me about my condition and the possible complications.

Dr Yu is fantastic. I feel so incredibly blessed to have been referred to him. And despite how busy he is, he always takes the time to communicate with you personally and to carefully explain the results.

My experience with this doctor was very poor. I felt rushed, waited for 3 months for this appointment and was out in 5 mins! He asked some questions but kept interrupting me when I try to answer (why bother asking questions when you wouldn't even listen?!). He came up with a quick diagnosis without explaining properly so I don't trust him. Stay away from this doctor!
