This the worst experience I've had with a doctors. He is rude and arrogant and rushes you out of the office. Never bothered to call me back with results of endoscopy/colonoscopy after I paid thousands of dollars for the procedure. When I came back for the same problem a year later Dr. Bae tells me oh wow good thing you came back so I can let you know about the results. A YEAR LATER. Never bothered to tell me from the beginning what he found. Then when I asked approximately how much a much a medication would cost the Dr. Bae exact answer was "I DON'T KNOW I'M NOT YOUR DADDY" !!!! Absolutely outrageous. No doctor should say things like that, I am a grown woman. Now I have been calling for 4 days trying to get him to actually call in the prescription that should have been done the same day. It is impossible to get anybody on the phone no matter how many messages you leave. Please save yourself the time and stress and find a different doctor

Dr. Bae recently joined the Park Medical Group in Bergen County, New Jersey. I have to say I’m very impressed with this doctor. He’s not only extremely knowledgeable and professional, he’s also an extremely nice person and truly cares about his patients. I had both an endoscopy and colonoscopy for the first time and was very happy with the results. I plan on using this doctor for many years in the future. Highly recommend Dr. Bae.

The first time I met Dr. Bae was for a checkup for a colonoscopy. His first comment to me was "I'm known as the cancer doctor." I wasn't sure about him, but I've heard good things so I had my colonoscopy and he found 2 suspicious polyps. He recommended I come back in 2 years. All was well with this one. I started to have pain in my upper right hand side, near my rib cage. This pain has been on and off for years, but this time it was really bothering me. I told Dr. Bae about this and he felt it may be my gall bladder since, in my family history, both my sister and my mom had to have theirs removed. So, he sent me for three procedures. Two weren't too bad, but the third one was very invasive and he did explain to me that it was possible that during this procedure, he could nick my pancreas and I could get pancreatitis. It was a dangerous procedure but it was the only way he could see my gall bladder and he was very experienced and had done this procedure many times. I asked him to promise me at least 3 time before the procedure was done, with my husband present, that if he came into any complications at the beginning of the procedure where he could stop to please do so. He agreed. (In hindsight, naturally, I'm so sorry I didn't get this in writing.) Well, the procedure called an MRCP, was only supposed to take about 45 min. My husband was in the waiting room, waiting for the procedure to be over so he could take me home.

45 min. went by and no word about me was told to my husband, but he did notice that Dr. Cardosa was running into the endosurgery area. My husband kept going to the desk asking if I was ok because it was now over 1 hour since I was supposed to be finished with this procedure. No one would get him information. Another 1/2 hour went by and still no word. The woman at the desk wouldn't help him. He saw a custodian come out of the room and he walked over and just asked him if he knew anything and he was able to say that I was not doing so well. My husband was frantic. He went back into the waiting room and about 10 mins. later, he saw me being wheeled out by nurses and volunteers. He immediately went out to my side and asked the nurses what happened and all they could tell him is that I was being admitted because I had pancreatitis. The only thing I could remember about this procedure is waking up in recovery and being in a lot of pain. Dr. Bae was standing over me and said "I think you have pancreatits." That was it. This little weasel didn't have the courage to go to my husband to tell him what happened to me or why the procedure, which should have taken 45 minutes, took over 2 hours, not including my recovery time in the endoscopy room!

Dr. Darauwala did come to see me the next day to exam me, but Dr. Bae didn't come to see me until 4 days later and all he told me was during the procedure he had difficulty finding the opening to my gall bladder. When he did find it, he made a nice slice in it and left. I was mainly being cared for by Dr. Theresa Sacchieri, my primary care physicians covering doctor since my primary care physician was out of town. She was absolutely wonderful! She told me that not only did I have pancreatitis, but there was a blood clot in my lung and I had pneumonia. Now, I had my spleen removed many, many years ago and pneumonia can be deathly for anyone without a spleen. Thank goodness I take care of my health and get the pneumonia vaccines when it's time for them. No one from Hunterdon Gastroenterology came to tell me what happened during this procedure to cause all of my problems until the day before I was ready to be discharged, 1 week later.

Dr. Cardosa, came to see me with someone from the hospital, and asked me if I knew what happened. I told him no, other than what Dr. Bae told me. Well, the whole story made me so mad! Because he couldn't find the opening to my gall bladder, he kept turning my body over and over on the table, insistent on completing this procedure. He called Dr. Cardosa for assistance and they again tried to position my body a number of ways until the arrogant Dr. Bae found the opening to my gall bladder. They couldn't find it is because the opening was not in the same place as other peoples. This is why he put "a nice slit in it." , causing the blood clot, although he denies it. There was no other place the blood clot could have come from. Dr. Cardosa left and Dr. Bae went on to finish the procedure and, in the process, nicked my pancreas, causing pancreatitis.

Naturally, I went home and it took at least a week to recover and I was on blood thinners for 6 months. The best part - I found the best gastroenterologist who looked over the two tests with me that Dr. Bae ordered before the MRCP - they both showed there was absolutely nothing wrong with my gall bladder. Dr. Bae should lose his license. He's now in Pa. I really should have reported him. I'm ashamed that Dr. Cardosa supported him.

I have been going to dr. Bae for several years. I am a senior citizen and highly recommend him. I have IBS/C and had acid reflux in the past, both treated by him. He is awesome, listens and answers my list of questions that I always bring with me. He never rushes me through the visit, explains everything in words and visuals, such as tests results etc. He uses terms that a non medical person can understand which I find to be helpful and yet he is very professional and caring. He has done colonoscopies and endoscopies on me and there was never a problem. I positively trust him. His staff is also very nice and they do their job. I highly recommend him and his entire practice.

Dr. Bae was a straight forward and effective communicator. He was very methodical with his diagnosis and approach. I would highly recommend him. Not sure why there are so many haters on this thread.

I have a history of colon cancer in my family and so it is necessary for me have colonoscopies every two years. I have never had a problem and I am always happily amazed at how smoothly it goes every time. I have had four colonoscopies with Dr. Bae and I would NEVER go anywhere else. He is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He is the best.

I have never commented on a physician before but I was truly offended by Dr. Bae's rebuttal to the patient who was told there problem was they were "fat". I find Dr. Bae's response patently dishonest, as I was told on more than one occassion the same demeaning comment. Not that my "weigh was contributing to a problem", simply you are fat with the last time I went him touching my stomach for emphasis. I never went back. I also was not surprised to see him make mention of the fact he trained at Sloan Kettering. That was one of the first things he told me and friends who have seen them as well. It made no sense to me as Sloan Kettering is famous for their cancer care, and Dr Bae is not a cancer speciList. He is a GI doctor. The GI program must be the most one dimensional mediocre programs because that is the last place on the earth you would go if you had anything but cancer. US News World Report rated it lower than Hunterdon in 2010. He is arrogant and insulting.

I have found Dr. Bae to be warm and friendly and caring. He is always on time and takes the time to listen to me. He is very supportive and was very gentle in telling me I need to lose weight. Of course, I am following WW and have lost 55 pounds which could be why I wasn't offended when he brought up the topic, unlike another reviewer here. I know I need to lose weight and am working at it. He is one of my biggest cheerleaders in that regard (in addition to my GP and my cardiologist). He does have a high opinion of himself, I agree with that, but he always listens too.
