Exceptional healthcare provider. Very understanding, unbiased, friendly, and approachable. Provides a wide array of services including acupuncture. Wish there were more docs like her in the New England area.

Dr. Fowler has been great to work with. She is compassionate and professional and I am very impressed with her versatility. I have been seeing her for about 2 months and have used her accupuncture, A-stimulator and medication for an anxiety disorder. My symptoms have decreased significantly and I am very thankful that Dr. Fowler is so easy to work with. She seems to always make time for me when I can really use the treatments and I am extremely grateful that she is my Psychiatrist.

Dr. Fowler has been working with me for over 2 years, and during that time not only have I received excellent care as well as knowledgeable discussions about my care, she has also been very willing to take time out of her schedule to actually check up and help her patients. I can not speak for all of her interactions or all of the people of the command, however I believe that in every instance I have worked with her, she has made a conscious effort to be not only a professional, hard-working and kind doctor who enjoys the work she does and has the patients best interest in mind. If you are in the area, I highly recommend working with her if you are given the choice.

Dr. Heidi Fowler is the Supervisory Psychiatrist at Naval Health Clinic New England. I've had the opportunity to be her patient over a year. She's genuine in her desire to make the Navy a safer place. Some may disagree when being separated under conditions they do not agree with, however, I know she has the servicemember's best interest at heart. Before making such disparaging comments without fear of repercussion, a patient should try to see how she interacts with her patients and the command under many conditions.
When I first came to her, I was about to be ADMIN sep'd, however, that's because I was a danger to myself and others. She worked with me and provided sound advice and valuable insight. When I made a real effort to improve, she helped smooth things over with my command and many different departments at the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
If you are seeking someone to wallow with in your anger and anti-Navy rant, you should be separated. Why? Because you enlisted to serve hard-working Americans-to think otherwise is licentious. Before you slam Dr. Fowler for protecting our ranks, think about the reason you're in the Navy in the first place, which is to uphold our maritime operations in a world increasingly threatened by escalating violence. 'Nuff said.

Dr. Fowler is one of the most caring & professional doctors of any specialty that I have encountered. The negative comments posted by the person above referred to Dr. Fowler (and who did not want to be in Dr. Fowler's office) do not accurately describe my experiences. Moreover, no one can speak on behalf of a hundred service members as this person claims. Newport is fortunate to have Dr. Fowler for both her skills as a psychiatrist and as an acupuncturist. As a former Navy Captain ( qualified Navy diver), she understands the naval/military community she serves. I cannot stress how thankful I am to be one of her patients.

I remember Commander Fowler as my command made me see her. Commander Fowler became abusive, forceful and began to yell when I stated I had no desire to see her. She called my Commanding Officer, needless to say I was punished simply for refusing to talk to her when she became aggressive, refused to listen to what I was saying and became defensive when i seen she had lied and placed an erroneous remark in my Service Medical Records. Money changes everything as I see very high ratings, she has done a disservice to more than 100 of us who served either in the United States Navy or Marine Corps.
