NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE IN HIS FIELD. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

I couldn’t begin to capture the issues here: he was out of this league with my cause but instead of admitting that, had me down to 75lbs, unresponsive to treatment and treated the whole year of this agony and constant pain/ poor quality life like business as usual. He was very unresponsive, and in the end when I left for another dr.; the records of all my calls, messages and visits to him during the worst of my flares mysteriously would not be found - even though co-pays to my insurance proves the latter. Unfortunately they only reflect the practice and not the individual physician which prevented me from taking legal action.

He’s a very nice man, but not knowledge for severe cases and seemed to chalk my very real pain up to hysteria - didn’t take me seriously.

Once I left and went to NYC I was admitted to the hospital for a full year, had seizures, sepsis, c-diff almost died twice, and had 2 surgeries to repair the year of neglect. Not to mention the PTSD and ongoing recovery and impact to my life.

I saw Dr. Glassman from ages 10-21. The older I got, the more he talked down to me. He would turn to my mother to ask questions instead of me. He ended up giving me lexapro, diagnosing me with anxiety. Last I checked that was not his specialty. When I wanted to come off of the lexapro he told me no and did not help me taper down. I ended up worse than when I started. At 27, I have trouble finding a GI I can trust as a result. Dr. Glassman put me on several meds multiple times a day despite complaints of serious side effects. During our last vists he was more interested in my social life then my stomach aches- it felt completely inappropriate.

After diagnosing my child with ulcerative colitis, he suggested that we take her off the medication to determine whether she "really" had the disease. She was in remission at the time but continued to have pain, which we were told by Dr. Glassman wsa "constipation." She then went into full-on flare and was unable to attend school for the better part of six months, during which time he prescribed meds in rapid-fire succession with no plan in place to determine whether or not they actually WORKED. He is stretched way too thin and seeing my child suffer, while I kept calling his office daily in a desperate attempt to find relief, was a dreadful experience. Take your child to Jeffrey Hyams, M.D., a world-class physician and researcher who shows incredible proactive responsibility in monitoring your child's illness and is on the cutting edge of pediatric GI research and methods. Dr. Hyams saved my child.

Dr. misdiagnosed my son, even after lengthy and invasive tests which were done improperly. We went for a second opinion and he was diagnosed immediately although he was then retested to confirm appropriate medication going forward. I would not recommend this doctor for anyone.

My daughter used to have blood in her stool so I was referred to Dr Glassman. I was terrified but Dr. Glassman explained my daughter had a milk allergy to cows milk and regular baby formula was causing the bloody stool. He gave me a prescription formula which was a miracle. It resolved the bloody stools, but it was not over the counter and had to order it online. At $45 a can it was very costly. The office tried to get my insurance to cover the formula but it was denied, I just have crappy insurance. They were nice enough to give me multiple cans of formula every month, even gave me the email of the formula rep so I can contact him for free formula every month. That saved me at least $1,000. When I would call the office, the staff and nurses were always so helpful and knowledgable! It was nice to speak to someone who knew what I was going through and who let me know this was very common. I couldn't imagine going through that without Dr. Glassman and his staff. Will never forget him!

My 2 year old son has suffered from acid reflux disease since birth. Since it was the "silent" type, it took me three months to make the diagnosis on my own. His pediatrician agreed with me, and I searched for a GI doc for him. I already had his reflux under control, but I wanted/needed guidance going forward. The first GI we saw was nice, but didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. The second GI wanted to take him off the medicine that was clearly working in favor of a less effective medicine. No way! Then, we found Dr. Glassman. I wish we had gone to him from the start. He listened to me and asked me what I needed. Instead of ordering me around, he became a real partner in the treatment of my son. He didn't blow off sleep issues (as others had). He is reassuring that the meds he prescribes are safe. I knew that, but I needed a doc to back me up! Whenever I've had a question or a problem between appointments, he or his assistant get back to me with helpful advice.

I can't say enough. After 18 months of no weight gain to a 6 lb gain in 8 months. He makes my 8 yr old feel like an important part of the process because she IS. He's the only pediatric physician that told me to listen while he got answers out of my child. Other Dr's should talk (and listen) to their patients like Dr Glassman does. Finally someone who takes the time to figure out what is actually going on! He's worth the wait.

He seemed friendly at first but I didn't like the way he spoke down to us. I felt a little uncomfortable with the way he treated us. Maybe he was having a bad day, but he shouldn't be taking it out on my kid.
